Zunächst wird dazu das Basiskonzept der Bewährungshilfe, die Prävention, genauer erläutert, um Hintergründe dieser Tätigkeit zu durchschauen und eine Grundlage für das weitere Verstehen dieser Arbeit zu schaffen. Darauf aufbauend wird das Berufsfeld der Bewährungshilfe mit seinen Hauptaufgaben und Voraussetzungen dargestellt, um anschließend zwei wichtige Methoden in der Bewährungshilfe kurz zu beleuchten: das Case Management und die Beratung. Bewährungshelfer*innen werden vor multiple Herausforderungen gestellt. Der nächste Abschnitt befasst sich daher mit der Definition des doppelten Mandates und damit, wie es sich auf die Beziehung von Bewährungshelfer*innen zu ihren Klient*innen sowie dem beruflichen Selbstverständnis auswirkt. Außerdem weisen die beiden Punkte jeweils auch eigene Schwierigkeiten auf. Ein abschließendes Fazit fasst die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse noch einmal zusammen.

Zudem soll verdeutlicht werden mit welchen Konflikten und Herausforderungen die Sozialarbeiter und Sozialarbeiterinnen in den verschiedenen Bereichen haben und welche Lösungsansätze es dafür gibt. Der Aufbau der Hausarbeit gestaltet sich wie folgt: Im ersten Teil wird die Entwicklung und Aufgaben der Gerichtshilfe und Jugendgerichtshilfe erklärt, um zu zeigen, dass diese keineswegs dieselben Tätigkeiten sind. Danach wird auf die sozialen Dienste der Justiz eingegangen und deren unterschiedlichen Aufgaben in der Untersuchungshaft und im Strafvollzug. Zum Schluss kommt die Arbeit der Bewährungshelfer und Bewährungshelferinnen mit deren Problemen und Lösungsansätzen in den Blick.

Der dargestellte Forschungsstand und die darin erkennbaren Problematiken führen somit zu der Forschungsfrage: Wie kann Beratung sowie Beziehung im Rahmen des Zwangskontextes Bewährungshilfe zwischen Sozialarbeiter:innen und Klient:innen gelingen? Daraus abgeleitet ergeben sich die Unterfragen: Wie sollen Sozialarbeiter:innen mit den Aspekten Kontrolle und Zwang umgehen und inwieweit ist die Motivation der Klient:innen im Kontext der Bewährungshilfe eine Kernaufgabe?
