Relying upon their mothers' examples, they had brought the gifts to their marriages they thought would be cherished, gifts that honored family, security, trust, and loyalty. But these simply weren't enough to make a marriage strong, warm a lover's heart, or bring the fulfillment both partners desired. Something was still missing. But what? In their search for wisdom, they turned to the well-known story of Queen Esther, a woman who not only charmed a king, but, through her marriage, saved an entire nation. Join authors Annetta Kelley Franks and Suzanne Grooms Spears as they share seven ancient secrets Queen Esther, the queen of all Persia, employed in order to become a woman of strength, faith, and power. InQueen Esther's Book of Ancient Secrets: A Modern Woman's Field Guide to Discovery, unwrap the mystery and claim the gifts all women possess.

Book Synopsis Esther: For Such A Time As This by : Bruce T. Forbes
Download or read book Esther: For Such A Time As This written by Bruce T. Forbes and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-07-21 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Who knoweth but that thou art come unto the kingdom for such a time as this?” was the question posed as the Jewish people looked to Queen Esther to save them from the decreed death sentence instigated by Haman, the king’s grand vizier. They did, in fact, need Esther’s courage and faith in the Lord to save them. She had the faith, but did she have the courage? Knowing that she was the only one who stood a chance of surviving an uninvited entrance into the king’s presence, Esther didn’t pray for the trial to be taken from her—instead, she prayed to the Lord: “Deliver me out of my fear.” Combining story elements from the Holy Bible, the writings of Josephus, and the Apocryphal Additions to Esther, writer Bruce T. Forbes has woven the story of his greatest childhood heroine into heroic blank verse poetry form to celebrate how one woman’s faith and courage saved a people from destruction and literally changed the course of history. For those who have been born to the earth for such a time as we live in today, Esther’s faith and courage is an example to all on how to face the challenging and life-changing situations we face in our daily lives.

Book Synopsis Princetonians, 1784-1790 by : Ruth L. Woodward
Download or read book Princetonians, 1784-1790 written by Ruth L. Woodward and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2014-07-14 with total page 683 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These volumes, the fourth and fifth, complete the series of biographical sketches of students at Princeton University (the College of New Jersey in colonial times). They cover pivotal years for both the nation and the College. In 1784, the war with England had just ended. Nassau Hall was still in a shambles following its bombardment, and the College was in financial distress. It gradually regained financial and academic strength, and the Class of 1794 graduated in the year of the death of President John Witherspoon, one of the most important early American educators. The introductory essay by John Murrin, editor of the series since 1981, explores the postwar context of the College. The two volumes contain biographies of 354 men who attended with the classes of 1784 through 1794 and two other students whose presence at the College in earlier years has only now been demonstrated. During these years Princeton accounted for about an eighth of all A.B. degrees granted in the United States. It was the young republic's most "national" college, although it had nearly lost its New England constituency and was instead beginning to draw nearly 40 percent of its students from the South.
