The research approach included a survey of mainstream organizations and key informants, informal discussions with consumers, focus groups, a funding policy review, and case studies of innovations. Perceptions from respondents were obtained regarding barriers to access (information/awareness, physical/geographic, cultural, administrative, and cost barriers) and approaches and strategies to improve access. The four case studies involved organizations that have taken leadership in different areas of work to improve access to members of minority groups. Appendices include interview guides and survey forms.
