Book Synopsis Identités sahéliennes en temps de crise by : Amy Niang
Download or read book Identités sahéliennes en temps de crise written by Amy Niang and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2019 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This multidisciplinary publication presents critical reflections on the dynamics of identity formation in a Sahel “in crisis”: a moment of sudden rupture and change that radically alters the social and cultural structures shaping the present of Sahel societies, but which also reveal them to be political instruments with an international significance. The contributions show how conflict, movement, and aesthetics shape identity practices that produce temporal, contingent and constantly changing ideologies, legitimacies, imaginaries, and new ways of life in the Sahel.

Download or read book Interpretation written by James Nolan and published by Multilingual Matters. This book was released on 2012-10-09 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent decades the explosive growth of globalization and regional integration has fuelled parallel growth in multilingual conferences. Although conference interpreting has come of age as a profession, interpreter training programs have had varied success, pointing to the need for an instructional manual which covers the subject comprehensively. This book seeks to fill that need by providing a structured syllabus and an overview of interpretation accompanied by exercises in various aspects of the art. It is meant to serve as a practical guide for interpreters and as a complement to interpreter training programs in the classroom and online, particularly those for students preparing for conference interpreting in international governmental and business settings. This expanded second edition includes additional exercises and provides direct links to a variety of web-based resources and practice speeches, also including additional language combinations.
Download or read book Digues maritimes et fluviales de protection contre les submersions - 2e colloque national - Digues 2013 written by ROYET Paul and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2013-05-01 with total page 730 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Managing Competences by : Benoit Grasser
Download or read book Managing Competences written by Benoit Grasser and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2021-04-21 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Managing Competences: Research, Practice, and Contemporary Issues draws together theoretical and practical research in competence management. It provides a wealth of knowledge concerning emerging and contemporary issues, such as the multilevel approach to competence, the development of collective competence, the strategies of competence management, and the tools for managing competences as well as the organizational dynamics of competences. Moreover, the book provides a critical approach to research and practitioners’ continued engagement in competence management research and practice. Research in competence management has more recently entered an era more open to doubt and questioning: Is there a solid theoretical foundation that supports the concept of competence? What is the contribution of research on employees’ competences to human resources management in particular, and more generally to management? Is there not a risk of diluting the concept of competence by considering it at the individual, collective, organizational, and strategic levels? Today, is it still possible to manage competences in a world where the boundaries of the organizations are more and more porous? These questions, and many others, probably explain why a field that seemed well-identified and well-structured yesterday, has given way today to new, highly diverse analyses of competences by researchers and practitioners. This contributed volume seeks to answer these pressing issues and is a collective means for responding to them. The book brings together multiple streams of research in the field about emerging and contemporary issues, including multidimensional HRM systems, the rise of forms of collaborative management, the intensification of the use of digital and robotic technologies, the rise of the regime of remote and networked operations, the increasing heterogeneity of the status of workers, and changes in regulations concerning work and its recognition.
Download or read book Dryland Forests written by Purabi Bose and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-03-08 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume provides new insights and conceptual understandings of the human and gender dimension of vulnerability in relation to the dynamics of tenure reforms in the dryland forests of Asia and Africa. The book analyzes the interaction between biophysical factors such as climate variability (e.g. droughts) with socio-political processes (e.g. new institutions and authority) and gender dimensions at various temporal and spatial scales. The book presents a number of case studies based on empirical research on forest tenure reform and it consequences on forest-dependent people. In particular, it highlights the interaction between legal, policy and institutional reform and the inclusion and/or exclusion of local people from deriving benefits from forest resources in the drylands. The book focuses on the questions how land tenure reform and natural resource governance impacts upon marginal groups (along individual, collective and gender dimensions); how do forest-dependent people prepare for and respond to vulnerability; and what is the effect of forest tenure policy reform on the human rights, gender and citizenship issues in relation to the use and management of forest resources and on conflict in forest zones. These issues are approached from the perspective of marginalized groups (gender and social diversity such as indigenous peoples and herders) in vulnerable dryland forests with a high risk of being exposed to climate variability.
