Book Synopsis Let the Nations be Glad by : John Piper
Download or read book Let the Nations be Glad written by John Piper and published by Inter-Varsity Press. This book was released on 2020-05-21 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Mission is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exist because worship doesn't. Worship is ultimate.' John Piper's contemporary classic draws on key biblical texts to demonstrate that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that proper worship fuels missionary outreach. Piper offers a biblical defence of God's supremacy in all things, providing a sound theological foundation for missions. He examines whether Jesus is the only way to salvation and issues a passionate plea for God-centredness in the missionary enterprise, seeking to define the scope of the task and the means for reaching 'all nations'. Let the Nations Be Glad! is a trusted resource for missionaries, pastors, church leaders, youth workers, seminary students, and all who want to connect their labours to God's global purposes. This third edition has been revised and expanded throughout and includes new material on the 'prosperity gospel'.
Book Synopsis China and End-Time Prophecy by : Eugene Bach
Download or read book China and End-Time Prophecy written by Eugene Bach and published by Whitaker House. This book was released on 2021-08-31 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In China, an Army Is Rising... For years, China’s population size, economic growth, and thirst for military power have taken center stage by those who study biblical prophecy. Most end-time experts have seen the “Red Dragon” as an aggressor to Israel. In Revelation 16 and 19, John's mention of the armies involved in the final battle marking the end of the world could well depict China’s army today. However, a different kind of army is also rising in China, and it is quickly approaching two hundred million people. This army is for Christ, not against Him. It is a host of Christians from the Chinese underground house church who are fighting a battle against principalities and powers and spreading the gospel in unprecedented ways under intense persecution. These Christians are motivated by a powerful vision called “Back to Jerusalem.” The Chinese church is quietly working to complete the Great Commission by bringing the gospel to unreached peoples in China’s eastern provinces and to all the countries between the border of China and the city of Jerusalem. Yet there’s even more to this fascinating development. What you read in this book may change your view of end-time prophecy. Back to Jerusalem is not just a missions movement of the Chinese church. It is an eschatological event confirmed by both the Old and New Testaments. God is using the Red Dragon to fulfill His ultimate purposes. China and End-Time Prophecy explores the surprising connection between ancient prophecy and China’s modern missions phenomenon. This book will give you a new vision of what it means to go into all the world with the gospel. Most of all, it will show you why the completion of the Great Commission is inevitable and the return of Christ is unstoppable.

Book Synopsis The Time Is Fulfilled, End-Time Prophecy Has Already Started to Happen by : Dennis Callen
Download or read book The Time Is Fulfilled, End-Time Prophecy Has Already Started to Happen written by Dennis Callen and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-06-24 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Time Is Fulfilled, End-Time Prophecy Has Already Started to Happen Here’s What’s Coming Next Dennis Callen had a visitation twice by the presence of the Lord a few years ago, very early in the morning. At that time, the Lord revealed the correct and current interpretation of end-time prophecy, much of which is not the same as is taught today. Of all the books brother Callen has written, this book was the most unique for him in that, he says, it was like taking dictation from the Holy Spirit and not just writing it from his own understanding, research, or opinion. This is one book that will bring the reader up-to-date with current events as the end-time prophecy has recently played out and will show you the exact day the tribulation will start, for the time is at hand. This book is Not a repeat of what has already been written by other writers. In fact, you will find it to be completely different. “Five out of five stars scripturally accurate and easy to read and understand” (Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2019). Most end-time prophecy books I have read all say the same things. A lot of them are private interpretations, which 2 Peter 1:20 says we should stay away from. This book uses scripture to interpret scripture. I have never read anything like this before. It all makes biblical sense to me. I can see how the seals have been opened already. The results of the seals are on the television news almost every day. The Bible says we are to be simple concerning evil (Romans 16:19). So if the book of Revelation is about the tribulation only and all the evil that would take place after we are gone, then this would violate Romans 16:19. However, the book of Revelation is first about setting the stage for the move of God in the greatest revival the world has ever seen, plus the coming wrath of God found in Revelation chapter 16. I don’t know of any other book that is as accurate and exciting to read as this book. You can tell it has the same feel as reading the Bible. Every Christian needs to read this book. I highly recommend it. The book of revelation is taken verse by verse with a clear, easy-to-understand explanation. Of all the books that are out there, this is the only one I recommend highly.

Book Synopsis Grace Defined and Defended by : Kevin DeYoung
Download or read book Grace Defined and Defended written by Kevin DeYoung and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2019-04-17 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians love to celebrate grace, but often talk about it in vague generalities. But such an important biblical concept ought to be clearly defined so it can be consistently defended. In this book, best-selling author Kevin DeYoung points modern readers back to an old document originally written to do just that. Warmly pastoral and broadly accessible, this book introduces readers to the Canons of Dort, a 17th-century work summarizing the central doctrines of the Christian faith. Widely regarded as a key pillar of the Reformed tradition, the Canons of Dort stand as a faithful witness to God's grace—offering a depth of understanding that the church still needs today. In three concise sections—covering history, theology, and practical application—DeYoung explores what led to the Canons and why they were needed, the five important doctrines that they explain, and Dort's place in the Reformed tradition today.

Book excerpt: God’s End-Time Moves is as much about the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit as it is about the affirmation of His Truth and Word, both of which shall touch down everywhere on earth. This book is a work of the End-Time Prophetic Mission, to show in what direction the Lord God of All Creation will be leading the world and, even more so, the Church. God is set to show in every way that the world is not in place by accident, and the Spirit of God will appear to walk on two feet while still being solidly Spirit. In His mercy and grace, God always allows an adequate period of preparation so that no one will be caught unaware, except by personal choice. God’s End-Time Moves, therefore, is His wakeup call!
Book Synopsis Emergence of the Priests by : Pastor M. D. Umar
Download or read book Emergence of the Priests written by Pastor M. D. Umar and published by Author House. This book was released on 2011-09-21 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Too precious is the blood of the Lamb Jesus that was slain to be trodden under the foot. And men shall not be allowed to do respite to the Spirit of grace by whom we are sealed unto salvation. The church must fulfill her purpose and ordained destiny. The church is permitted to remain in the world for an end that is, to be the light bearer to those who are in the darkness of unbelief through ignorance. However, the activities and stench of wolves in sheep clothing styling themselves as shepherds in the house of our God has reached the highest heavens. Judgment is about to begin and that must be from the very threshold of the house of God. The Church was designed and created to be light bearers to the world. But, the church herself needed light due to the decadence that has set in because of her adultery with the world. Her (the church) inter-meddling with the world has eclipsed the original glory of God. The prophets within her wall prophesy for bread and divine for silver and for gold. Her doctrines are dubbed with untempered mortar and her gospel has been watered down and as such, lacks the inherent power, grace, and life to transform depraved men into the likeness of their master Jesus, which was the original design and purpose of the gospel. In addition, the quest for economic paradise here and now, has veiled the glory of the world to come, in the heart of men. We can no longer distinguish between the clean and the unclean, the saved and the unsaved, the church and the world. Truth, which is the hub of Christianity, has fallen at the gate, and those that seek after godliness and His righteousness has made themselves a prey amongst the sons of men.
Book Synopsis What Is the Mission of the Church? by : Kevin DeYoung
Download or read book What Is the Mission of the Church? written by Kevin DeYoung and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2011-09-08 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Social justice and mission are hot topics today: there's a wonderful resurgence of motivated Christians passionate about spreading the gospel and caring for the needs of others. But in our zeal to get sharing and serving, many are unclear on gospel and mission. Yes, we are called to spend ourselves for the sake of others, but what is the church's unique priority as it engages the world? DeYoung and Gilbert write to help Christians "articulate and live out their views on the mission of the church in ways that are theologically faithful, exegetically careful, and personally sustainable." Looking at the Bible's teaching on evangelism, social justice, and shalom, they explore the what, why, and how of the church's mission. From defining "mission", to examining key passages on social justice and their application, to setting our efforts in the context of God's rule, DeYoung and Gilbert bring a wise, studied perspective to the missional conversation. Readers in all spheres of ministry will grow in their understanding of the mission of the church and gain a renewed sense of urgency for Jesus' call to preach the Word and make disciples.
Book Synopsis The Plurality Principle by : Dave Harvey
Download or read book The Plurality Principle written by Dave Harvey and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2021-02-17 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building and Sustaining a Thriving Leadership Culture Essential to every healthy church is a biblical model of leadership. In the New Testament, church leadership is built around a team of elders working together, each bringing his own unique skills and gifts to the cause of shepherding the flock God entrusted to them. However, in many churches today the principle of plurality in leadership is often misunderstood, mistakenly applied, or completely ignored. Dave Harvey encourages church leaders to prioritize plurality for the surprising ways that it helps churches to flourish. This book not only builds a compelling case for churches to adopt and maintain biblical elder pluralities guided by solid leadership but also supplies practical tools to help elders work together for transformation. Book Synopsis The Mission of God by : Christopher J.H. Wright
Download or read book The Mission of God written by Christopher J.H. Wright and published by InterVarsity Press. This book was released on 2013-01-30 with total page 583 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner, 2007 Christianity Today Missions/Global Affairs Book Most Christians would agree that the Bible provides a basis for mission. But Christopher Wright boldly maintains that mission is bigger than that--there is in fact a missional basis for the Bible! The entire Bible is generated by and is all about God's mission. In order to understand the Bible, we need a missional hermeneutic of the Bible, an interpretive perspective that is in tune with this great missional theme. We need to see the "big picture" of God's mission and how the familiar bits and pieces fit into the grand narrative of Scripture. Beginning with the Old Testament and the groundwork it lays for understanding who God is, what he has called his people to be and do, and how the nations fit into God's mission, Wright gives us a new hermeneutical perspective on Scripture. This new perspective provides a solid and expansive basis for holistic mission. Wright emphasizes throughout a holistic mission as the proper shape of Christian mission. God's mission is to reclaim the world--and that includes the created order--and God's people have a designated role to play in that mission.
Book Synopsis Mission in the New Testament by : William J. Larkin
Download or read book Mission in the New Testament written by William J. Larkin and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a comprehensive articulation of New Testament teachings on mission from a contemporary American evangelical standpoint. Mission in the New Testament contributes a fresh statement of the biblical foundations of mission, serving as a catalyst for completion of the church's universal mission in this generation. After investigating the historical background of the idea of mission in the Hebrew Scriptures, inter-testamental Judaism, the life of Jesus and the beginnings of the church, the book proceeds in a roughly canonical order through the New Testament. Essays analyze the works of Paul, the Synoptic gospels, Acts of the Apostles, the General Epistles, and the Book of Revelation. Well-versed in the historical-critical method of biblical interpretation, editors and contributors alike offer a cogent argument for recovering the "missional horizon" of the New Testament.
