In diesem Band gewähren sie einen reflektierten, teilweise selbstkritischen und mehrperspektivischen Einblick in die konkrete Forschungspraxis. Neben der Beschreibung des Feldzugangs und der dabei aufgetretenen Schwierigkeiten gibt es umfassende Beschreibungen zur Lebenslage von Kursteilnehmenden, zur Akzeptanz diagnostischer Instrumentarien sowohl bei Kursleitenden als auch -teilnehmenden, zur biographischen Bedeutsamkeit des Kursbesuchs, zum Zusammenhang zwischen Kursbesuch und Lernfortschritten, zum Einfluss regionaler Besonderheiten sowie Überlegungen zur Umsetzung der Erkenntnisse in der Alphabetisierungspraxis. Das Buch wendet sich an Erziehungswissenschaftler/innen und Praktiker/innen, die im Feld der Alphabetisierung/Grundbildung tätig sind. We acknowledge that studies such as PIAAC are often designed, financed and implemented on the basis of neo-liberal worldviews. In PIAAC, for example, there are huge differences between the surveyed variables and the theoretical frameworks on literacies and literacy practices that the New Literacy Studies (NLS) have brought out.
