Book excerpt: Excerpt from Fertilizer Experiments With Greenhouse Tomatoes In the light of these various experiments it was deemed advisable to run a series of tests in the fertilizing of greenhouse tomatoes grown in ground beds, as both fall and spring crops, particularly to determine the effect of fractional applications of nitrogen and potash at different stages of the plant's development, supplementary to a basic treatment of manure and phosphorus. Records were secured on six fall crops and four spring crops. Upon analyzing the data in reference to the fall cr0p it seemed advisable to conduct a supplementary test involving twelve replications to obtain further data regarding the relative yields of tomato plants treated with manure alone and with manure and superphosphate in the fall crop. Data on the main experiment and on the supplementary test are included in this report. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
