Book Synopsis Fellowship of Fear by : Aaron Elkins
Download or read book Fellowship of Fear written by Aaron Elkins and published by Open Road Media. This book was released on 2014-04-01 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First in the Edgar Award–winning series “that never disappoints,” featuring the forensic anthropologist known as the Skeleton Detective (The Philadelphia Inquirer). When anthropology professor Gideon Oliver is offered a teaching fellowship at US military bases in Germany, Sicily, Spain, and Holland, he wastes no time accepting. Stimulating courses to teach, a decent stipend, all expenses paid, plenty of interesting European travel . . . What’s not to like? It does not take him long to find out. On his first night, he is forced to fend off two desperate, black‐clad men who have invaded his Heidelberg hotel room with intent to kill. And then there are a few trivial details that the recruiting agency forgot to mention—such as the fact that the two previous holders of the fellowship both met with mysterious ends. From there, it is all downhill. Gideon finds himself the target in an unfamiliar game for which no one has bothered to give him the rules. What he does have is his own considerable intellect and his remarkable forensic skills. He will need them, for he is playing for some fairly high stakes: the security of Western Europe. Fellowship of Fear is the 1st book in the Gideon Oliver Mysteries, but you may enjoy reading the series in any order.

Book Synopsis Bible Study Guide for Churches, Small House Fellowships, and Discussion Groups by : Richard Sogunle
Download or read book Bible Study Guide for Churches, Small House Fellowships, and Discussion Groups written by Richard Sogunle and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In my many years of attending Bible study, I have found that many who attend barely grow beyond the level of being fed the word of God. Many are stocked in the level of milk without the capacity to handle the solid word of God. The aptitude and zeal to understand and rightly share the word of God is absent in the greater percentage of church attendees today. Every good shepherd desire that their flocks grow in their spiritual muscle and be able to stand anywhere and anytime on their faith feet without being tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine. However, due to various environmental and organizational challenges, a small group Bible study setting may be lacking in many churches. The members may attend worship services on Sunday and other times, and listen to the pastor's sermon day after day, but never have the opportunity to contribute their God-given ideas or ask questions that could strengthen their courage to share their faith with understanding. This book is designed to challenge believers in reading a passage of the scripture and equip them with spiritual-warfare weapon in memory verse during each Bible study session. The individual will have the opportunity to learn and discuss the weekly topic and questions that follow every introduction to the topic. The study guide is simply arranged to enable any believer or group of believers and families to use in any Bible study group setting. The study guide discusses various topics with supporting scriptural references to equip participants with practical knowledge and applications to their daily Christian living. Bible Study Guide for Churches, Small House Fellowships, and Discussion Groups is a must-have handbook for pastors, leaders of various Christian fellowship groups, and believers that will love to grow in their Christian walk.

Book Synopsis The Left Boot of Fellowship Second Edition by : K B Napier
Download or read book The Left Boot of Fellowship Second Edition written by K B Napier and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-10-22 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on my PhD (Theol) dissertation. At the time it was completed computers were not generally available, so all research was done in academic and general libraries. This is why I added Part B (hence this is the Second Edition), which contains more available modern sources. The book looks at the need for a doctrine of disfellowship/excommunication, because few local churches comply with God and scripture on the matter, though it is urgently needed. Most churches are 'mixed' and therefore not legitimate according to God's word. Any church that mixes the ekklesia (saved men and women) and unsaved are bound to have trouble and lower standards of belief. And those who commit serious public sins MUST be dealt with, both to satisfy God's commands, and also to stop such ones infecting the congregation with sinful words and actions. At times this disfellowship must be summarily applied, when the issue is serious enough. In days of darkness and evil, this is vital, as part of general discipline.

Book Synopsis Jesus Christ for Today's World by : Jürgen Moltmann
Download or read book Jesus Christ for Today's World written by Jürgen Moltmann and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 1995-08-21 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: J rgen Moltmann formulates necessary questions about the significance of Jesus the Christ for persons today. He offers a compelling portrait of the earthly Jesus as the divine brother in our distress and suffering and points to the risen Christ as the warrant for the "future in which God will restore everything . . . and gather everything into his kingdom." Urging that acknowledgment of Christ and discipleship are two sides of the same coin, Moltmann contends that the question of Jesus Christ for today is not just an intellectual one. Moltmann takes fresh approaches to a number of crucial topics: Jesus and the kingdom of God, the passion of Christ and the pain of God, Jesus as brother of the tortured, and the resurrection of Christ as hope for the world, the cosmic Christ, Jesus in Jewish- Christian dialogue, the future of God, and others.
Book Synopsis From a Ministry for Youth to a Ministry of Youth by : Ruth Lukabyo
Download or read book From a Ministry for Youth to a Ministry of Youth written by Ruth Lukabyo and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-09-30 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At a time of unprecedented secularization and declining church attendance, youth ministry in the twenty-first century should be doomed. So why is Protestant youth ministry in Sydney vibrant, and in many places growing? This book sets out to answer this question, which is of such importance for the future of the Australian church. A pioneering model of youth ministry evolved in the 1930s and was already flourishing in churches, schools, and university by the 1950s. Its early high point was the Billy Graham Crusade of 1959, which may legitimately be seen as an Australian youth revival. The new model broke with past practice by cultivating ministry leadership by young people, by promoting peer groups to nurture and share faith, and by fostering ministry collaboration between young men and women. The model, used by theological conservatives and liberals alike, and has proved both enduring and fruitful. This book will engage with the model of youth ministry and the religious experiences of young people in Sydney. By reading it you will not only learn from the significant achievements of young people in the past but be better equipped to creatively consider new methods of ministry for the twenty-first century.
