Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents first-year calculus roughly in the order in which it was first discovered. The first two chapters show how the ancient calculations of practical problems led to infinite series, differential and integral calculus and to differential equations. The establishment of mathematical rigour for these subjects in the 19th century for one and several variables is treated in chapters III and IV. Many quotations are included to give the flavor of the history. The text is complemented by a large number of examples, calculations and mathematical pictures and will provide stimulating and enjoyable reading for students, teachers, as well as researchers.

Book Synopsis Excell PDT Professional Driving Training by : Joe Martin

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here's the Problem Drivers have been taught to always steer into a skid when they spin out. First, they need to know what causes a spin-out. The three things I've observed in my 35 years of driving on ice and snow are (1) ice and snow give one no time or space to correct a problem, (2) most drivers panic brake because they don't have the skills to counter-steer correctly, and (3) they don't know about surface grip or how to drive on snow or ice safely. They drive too fast to correct the problem. Counter steering correction takes time and space, and most drivers don't give themselves enough time or space to correctly counter steer. Speed, space, and overcorrection cause most accidents. This training provides the solution to spin-out driving by teaching drivers how to remain in control of their vehicles. Drivers will learn and understand understeering, oversteering, and counter-steering. Drivers will learn about the 8 (eight) forces which disrupt motion, how kinetic energy impacts a moving vehicle in three ways, and the rule of two. The three causes of accidents.1. Driver error2. Vehicle maintenance3. Weather-related accidents. This training can help solve 2 of the three major causes of accidents.

Book excerpt: The Mahabharata of Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa Translated into English Prose Adi Parva by Kisari Mohan Ganguli SECTION I Om! Having bowed down to Narayana and Nara, the most exalted male being, and also to the goddess Saraswati, must the word Jaya be uttered. Ugrasrava, the son of Lomaharshana, surnamed Sauti, well-versed in the Puranas, bending with humility, one day approached the great sages of rigid vows, sitting at their ease, who had attended the twelve years' sacrifice of Saunaka, surnamed Kulapati, in the forest of Naimisha. Those ascetics, wishing to hear his wonderful narrations, presently began to address him who had thus arrived at that recluse abode of the inhabitants of the forest of Naimisha.
