Book Synopsis Evaluation of the project “Developing capacity for strengthening food security and nutrition in selected countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia" by : Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
Download or read book Evaluation of the project “Developing capacity for strengthening food security and nutrition in selected countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia" written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2021-06-22 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Caucasus and Central Asian countries are strongly committed to promoting food security and nutrition among their populations. Although good progress has been made by most countries in the region, food insecurity and malnutrition remain relatively high and greater efforts are needed to address their root causes. Moreover, wide gaps in terms of income, food security and nutrition, and access to social services have caused substantial migration from rural areas to neighbouring countries. The FAO project on developing capacity for strengthening food security and nutrition in selected countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia aims to promote cross-sectoral collaboration between agriculture, health, education and social protection sectors by carrying out six pilot projects in Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. These pilots build capacities at field and governmental level and provide an evidence base to build political commitment and coherence for the development of policies, legislations and programmes at the country, regional and global levels. The evaluation concluded that overall the project has been successful. The building of operational capacity among stakeholders and beneficiaries is processing well through the ongoing pilots, while high-level coordination and policy dialogue, and the contribution to global policy processes and frameworks need more time to materialize. The evaluation makes a number of recommendations to further enhance project design, implementation, monitoring and sustainability, and proposes a second phase of at least 1-2 years to consolidate and expand achievements.

Book Synopsis Pilot Mental Health Assessment and Support by : Robert Bor
Download or read book Pilot Mental Health Assessment and Support written by Robert Bor and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-12-08 with total page 457 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The presentation of mental illness at work has different implications and consequences depending on the specific nature of the job, work context, regulatory framework and risks for the employee, organisation and society. Naturally there are certain occupational groups where human factors and/or mental illness could impair safety and mental acuity, and with potentially devastating consequences. For pilots, the medical criteria for crew licensing are stipulated by regulatory aviation authorities worldwide, and these include specific mental illness exclusions. The challenge of assessment for mental health problems is, however, complex and the responsibility for psychological screening and testing falls to a range of different specialists and groups including AMEs (authorised aviation medical examiners), GPs and physicians, airline human resources departments, psychologists, human factor specialists and pilots themselves. Extending and developing the ideas of Aviation Mental Health (2006), which described a range of psychological issues and problems that may affect pilots and the consequences of these, this book presents an authoritative, comprehensive and practical guide to modern, evidence-based practice in the field of mental health assessment, treatment and care. It features contributions from experts in the field drawn from several countries, professions and representing a range of aviation-related organisations, displaying a range of different skills and methods that can be used for the clinical assessment of pilots and in relation to specific mental-health problems and syndromes.

Book excerpt: The terminal evaluation serves a double purpose of (i) providing evidence on project performance (delivery of results) for accountability and transparency purposes, and (ii) promoting learning and knowledge sharing within FAO and GEF and among the global and national partners to strengthen the institutional and technical capacities of countries to meet the ETF requirements of the Paris Agreement. The evaluation used a combination of methods to gather information: document review, semi-structured interviews of pilot country representatives, other key stakeholders and CBIT-Forest Partners, and project management and Project Steering Committee members, as well as a brief survey targeted at pilot country partners. The evaluation used interviews and surveys to provide evidence on project performance, with particular emphasis on assessing the achievement of outcomes and impacts, value-added and benefits provided through participation in the CBIT-Forest project, sustainability, general value-added and lessons learned.
Book Synopsis Forsa pilot program and evaluation plan by : El Shabrawy, Atef
Download or read book Forsa pilot program and evaluation plan written by El Shabrawy, Atef and published by Intl Food Policy Res Inst. This book was released on 2022-04-21 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Forsa, which means “Opportunity” in Arabic, is a new economic inclusion program of the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Implemented by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the program aims to graduate beneficiaries of the national cash transfer program, the Takaful & Karama Program (TKP), from being dependent on transfers from TKP to economic self-reliance by enabling them to engage in wage employment or sustainable economic enterprises. The most recent World Bank Economic Inclusion report (Andrews et al. 2021) highlights a recent increase globally in such graduation or economic inclusion programs, which now reach around 92 million beneficiaries from 20 million households across more than 75 countries. This rapid growth is raising demand for evidence on best practices in graduation program implementation. Egypt’s experience with Forsa can contribute to such guidance.
