Book Synopsis La science de l'information : Origines, théories et paradigmes by : IBEKWE-SANJUAN Fidelia
Download or read book La science de l'information : Origines, théories et paradigmes written by IBEKWE-SANJUAN Fidelia and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-10-01 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
This book was released on 2012-06-01 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Information Economy by : Lars Osberg
Download or read book The Information Economy written by Lars Osberg and published by IRPP. This book was released on 1989 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper argues that growth in modern economies is inherently unbalanced because labour productivity grows at different rates in the different occupation sectors. It examines the relative shift within industries towards knowledge-based occupations. It also demonstrates that higher education does not imply higher individual earnings for those employed in the goods and personal services sector, but post-secondary education is strongly rewarded within the information economy. Finally, it discusses the educational policy, research and development and international trade issues raised by the pattern of unbalanced growth characteristic of the information economy.

Book Synopsis How Computers Entered the Classroom, 1960–2000 by : Carmen Flury
Download or read book How Computers Entered the Classroom, 1960–2000 written by Carmen Flury and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-06-19 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the history of education, the question of how computers were introduced into European classrooms has so far been largely neglected. This edited volume strives to address this gap. The contributions shed light on the computerization of education from a historical perspective, by attending closely to the different actors involved – such as politicians, computer manufacturers, teachers, and students –, political rationales and ideologies, as well as financial, political, or organizational structures and relations. The case studies highlight differences in political and economic power, as well as in ideological reasoning and the priorities set by different stakeholders in the process of introducing computers into education. However, the contributions also demonstrate that simple cold war narratives fail to capture the complex dynamics and entanglements in the history of computers as an educational technology and a subject taught in schools. The edited volume thus provides a comprehensive historical understanding of the role of education in an emerging digital society.

Book Synopsis Recherches ouvertes sur le numérique by : PAPY Fabrice
Download or read book Recherches ouvertes sur le numérique written by PAPY Fabrice and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2013-06-01 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Information Society by : Armand Mattelart
Download or read book The Information Society written by Armand Mattelart and published by SAGE. This book was released on 2003-04-03 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The impact of the `information society' are multiform and transdisciplinary. There are few areas of social, political and economic life that have not been affected or challenged by the new technologies of information and communication. In this short introduction, Armand Mattelart unpacks the notion of the information society, and examines why it has become the dominant paradigm for social change in the 21st Century. Critically, he also asks why the notion has come to dominant in the absence of any critical examination of the conditions under which it has been produced. Combining a long-term historical and geopolitical perspective, Mattelart questions the axioms used to legitimate the Information Society and critically assesses the ways in which it has been conceptualised as a theoretical concept as well as policy making tool. This introduction will be of interest to all students of media and communication, as well as social scientists in general.
Book Synopsis Hyperconnectivity by : Dominique Carré
Download or read book Hyperconnectivity written by Dominique Carré and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-10-10 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The use of digital information and communication technologies would be the traces of a social acceptability of the exploitation of all data, in the context of negotiations of uses. This is the reason why the users present themselves actors and contributors of the hyperconnectivity. We would thus witness a new form of dissemination, inviting user experience and social innovations. It is thus the victory of subordination by negotiated renunciation; A new form of serving, no longer that of the 1980s, with the counters and other services, which have become uncontrolled services - excepted when the users are overcome by restrictive ergonomics, revealing too much the subordination device - which joins the prescription apparently without an injunction. The lure is at its height when users and broadcasters come together to produce the services and goods, composing the business model, until the very existence of the companies, in particular the pure players. Crowdsourcing becomes legitimate: consumers create the content, deliver the data, the basis of the service sold (in a painless way because free access most of the time, indirect financing), the providers make available and administer the service, networks , Interfaces (representing considerable costs), also reputation to attract the attention of other consumers or contributors. In these conditions, the environmental stakes are considerable, so we propose another way of considering them, not as they are dealt with - material and pollution - but according to the prism of the relational practices analyzed in this volume.
