L'activité physique régulière chez le patient diabétique, par des objectifs fixés par l'HAS, est une composante du trépied thérapeutique. Par le biais de l'ETP, le patient devient acteur de sa prise en charge. L'objectif de cette étude est d'évaluer la poursuite de l'activité physique après une semaine de prise en charge en ETP. Méthode : Il s'agit d'une étude rétrospective portant sur 149 patients ayant été suivis en éducation thérapeutique au CH Cambrai. Chaque patient a bénéficié d'une semaine d'ETP, en hospitalisation ou en ambulatoire. Une évaluation de l'activité physique à 12 mois a été faite par questionnaire téléphonique. Résultats : 98 patients ont répondu au questionnaire : 55 déclaraient une activité physique régulière dont 34 réalisaient un exercice d'intensité faible à 12 mois. Un patient DID sur trois indiquait pratiquer de l'exercice régulièrement et de manière intensive pour 66% d'entre eux. Les objectifs d'activité physique fixés pendant la semaine d'ETP étaient atteints chez 1 patient sur 2. Cette activité n'entraîne pas de modification de poids corporel mais induit une baisse d'HbA1c. Conclusion : La prise en charge en éducation thérapeutique favorise la poursuite d'une activité physique régulière chez les patients diabétiques à 12 mois.
