Cette thèse s'intègre dans le contexte de la recherche de solutions analytiques pour les problèmes de dimensionnement des réseaux ATM Trois approches différentes, mais complémentaires, sont proposées: une méthode exacte: La solution a forme produit, Une méthode structurelle: Les réseaux d'automates stochastiques, t, une méthode d'approximation faisant appel aux processus de diffusion. La première approche se situe dans le cadre de la théorie des réseaux de files d'attente avec des clients négatifs ou g-réseaux. Deux extensions des g-réseaux sont prouvées à forme produit. La première consiste à considérer des réseaux ou le taux de service dépend du nombre de clients dans la file et la seconde consiste à considérer des clients négatifs dont le rôle est de détruire tous les clients positifs présents ont leur arrivée dans une file d'attente. Dans chacun des deux cas, un algorithme itératif de calcul de la solution du système de points fixes est propose. La seconde approche est basée sur les réseaux d'automates stochastiques (ras). Cette méthode est utilisée pour modéliser un mécanisme de contrôle de congestion visant à offrir une priorité d'accès aux cellules sensibles d'un réseau ATM. La troisième et dernière approche est l'approximation par diffusion. Les principes théoriques de cette technique sont appliqués à l'analyse des délais de transmission de bout en bout et du phénomène de gigue qui résulte de leur caractère aléatoire. L'étude de la gigue permet de dimensionner le dispositif de rattrapage de gigue et d'en estimer la qualité de service. L'intérêt de l'utilisation de la méthode de l'approximation par diffusion est également mis en évidence au travers d'une seconde étude. celle-ci concerne l'analyse d'un multiplexeur statistique à intégration de service

L'algorithme max-min représente une des méthodes les plus utilisées pour offrir le critère de l'équité entre les utilisateurs. La première contribution de cette thèse consiste à étendre l'algorithme max-min à une version pondérée baptisée WMM. Selon cette extension, nous avons donc proposé deux algorithmes distribués : l'algorithme mico et l'algorithme mclf. Ces deux derniers améliorent considérablement les performances de l'algorithme erica a savoir l'équité entre les utilisateurs. En présence des sources ABR sporadiques, L'utilisation conjointe des comportements de source, des algorithmes de commutateur et des comportements use-it-or-lose-it définis par l'ATM forum, ne permet pas de contrôler efficacement la sporadicité du trafic en provenance de ces sources. Elle entraîne, par conséquent, une surestimation de l'allocation de la bande passante aux sources ABR. Dans cette perspective, nous avons conçu l'algorithme iaaa qui calcule l'ARC en fonction de l'état actuel du trafic afin de réduire l'effet provoqué par la sporadicité. Cette thèse a été achevée par la mise en oeuvre de deux algorithmes rca et rca#+. Ils offrent la possibilité d'acheminer un trafic de type vidéo en utilisant le service ABR. Pour ce faire, une équation entre le paramètre de quantification q et le volume de l'information à transmettre a été ajustée. Cette étude s'est basée sur une allocation équitable des sources ABR, sur un contrôle de débit du codeur vidéo, ainsi que sur une diminution du taux de réduction de l'image. Ceci a permis un meilleur délai de transfert tout en gardant une qualité d'image satisfaisante. Ces différents algorithmes ont fait l'objet d'une étude de simulation destinée à valider leurs performances.

Les services haut débit deviennent indispensables pour satisfaire les besoins croissants des usagers. Les réseaux informatiques existants sont confrontés à un grand défi. Après les réseaux atm à 155 mbps, les réseaux tout optique sont proposés pour offrir la possibilité de haut débit, quelques centaines de giga bits par seconde. Notre projet de recherche sous un contrat de France Télécom CNET(convention ft-cnet avec numéro 95-3114) concerne les réseaux par déflexion qui pourraient offrir une alternative aux solutions ATM existantes. Le principe du réseau par déflexion est de proposer un nouveau routage dynamique pour s'adapter à la variation saisonnière du trafic et résoudre mieux des problèmes de congestions dans le réseau traditionnel. Nos études se sont concentrées sur les aspects suivants : 1) introduction. 2) architecture des réseaux par déflexion. 3) proposition des routages fondée sur la méthode par déflexion. 4) analyses de performance du réseau sans mémoire et avec mémoire et 5) étude du ré assemblage et du délai. Les résultats obtenus permettent d'envisager l'usage de la déflexion dans une classe plus large de réseau et notamment pour des réseaux basés sur l'électronique
