Book excerpt: ‘EZDRAS INSIGHTS’ contains the Apocryphal books of 1st Esdras and 2nd Esdras which were in the KJV of the Bible until 1885. Why were they taken out? Read on and find out why? 1ST ESDRAS IS A HISTORICAL BOOK WHICH SHOWS THAT THE VISIONS AND PROPHECIES GIVEN TO EZRA IN 2ND ESDRAS WERE ALL FULFILLED, AS GOD RESCUED ISRAEL FROM HER ENEMIES DURING THE 5TH CENTURY BC. ‘EZDRAS INSIGHTS’ also contains ‘4000 YEARS FROM CREATION TO CHRIST’ ‘ESDRAS INSIGHTS’ has many Bible verses as cross-references, as well as ‘insightful comments’. The Apocryphal book of 2nd Esdras talks about the Bride of Christ and also the Call of the Bride. As in one of my other books ENOCH INSIGHTS, ESDRAS INSIGHTS mentions that the earth is hollow as stated by the Apocryphal Book of 2nd Esdras in 5 different chapters. It also mentions the coming Messiah and states in prophecy very accurately that He would come in 400 years from the time of Ezra the prophet, who was the one who wrote 2nd Esdras. This prophecy of 400 years until Christ turned out to be exactly correct. Amazingly, this book explains what happened to the 10 Missing tribes of Israel back in circa 730 BC. This Book of 2nd Esdras also talks about Salvation and Zion. It amazingly predicted the rise of the Roman empire 400 years before it happened. It also talks about God the Father and God the Son. It talks about the Son of God and the coming Wrath of God, as well as Babylon the Great, as is also mentioned in Revelation 17-18. There are many appendices to all 3 books which are contained inside this book of ‘Esdras Insights’. These appendices are full of very interesting information. This book proves that the earth is very young earth of circa 6000 years old.

Book excerpt: The verses with extensive commentaries, references, and ideas for follow-up EZDRAS INSIGHTS contains the Apocryphal Book of ‘II EZDRAS’ which was in the KING JAMES version of the Bible until 1885. Why was it taken out? Read on and find out WHY? EZDRAS INSIGHTS has many Bible verses as cross-references, as well as ‘insightful comments’. II EZDRAS talks about the ‘Bride of Christ’ & also the ‘Call of the Bride’. As in Enoch Insights, my second book Ezdras Insights mentions that the earth is actually hollow in five different chapters. It also mentions the coming Messiah and prophesies very accurately that he would come in 400 years from the time of Ezra, who wrote II EZDRAS. This turned out to be exactly correct. This book also talks about Salvation & Zion. It amazingly predicted the rise of the Roman Empire over 400 years before it happened. It talks about the Son of God & the coming Wrath of God, as well as Babylon the Great, as also mentioned in Revelations 17-18. The 20 appendices are chock-full of extra information about Hell, Portals, man becoming smaller, weaker, not taller and stronger as modern science teaches, and many other interesting topics. This book even proves that the earth is very young, and not much more than 6000 years old. Amazingly this book also explains what happened to the missing 10 tribes of Israel back in around 700-800 BCE. That alone is an amazing and incredible story. Reviews: “A very interesting Apocryphal book that once stood in the Bible but taken away in 1885 A.D. It has been a wonderful experience reading an exceptional book.” — Jeanne R Wilson “Not only can you read whole chapters of II Ezdras, but with each verse, the author has made comments to explain the meaning, plus adding many Bible verses confirming it.” — Simon D. “You can tell the passion of such work by the dedication & extra work, adding all the comments & Bible verses to each verse, to make it easy for the readers to keep focused on such a normally ‘hard to read’ book & yet keeping to its originality & veracity.” — Joanna B. “Very easy to read & understand with all the comments added, as for many readers, Apocryphal books are often hard to read.” — John Macintyre “Once you think the book is finish, it comes the Appendix with many more explanations & links to follow up giving you much more than just a book in your hands, but the beginning of a deep search & information to the authenticity of the II Ezdras book.” — Alfredo Alemany Garcia

Book excerpt: The books of Ezra-Nehemiah and 1 Esdras tell the story of the Judean return from exile in Babylon, of rebuilding the temple, and of creating a new community in Zion. For scholars and students trying to understand the Second Temple period, there are no other contemporary narratives available, giving these books prime importance. In Was First Esdras First? world-renowned scholars fully discuss, without arriving at a consensus, the relationship between Ezra-Nehemiah and 1 Esdras. In addition, they delve into these books' dates and methods of composition, the sources used, their respective historical and social milieus, their original languages, and their authority and status in antiquity. This collection adds to our understanding of the history of Second Temple Judah, the formation of early Judaism, and the processes by which biblical books were composed. The contributors are Lisbeth S. Fried, Deirdre N. Fulton and Gary N. Knoppers, Lester L. Grabbe, Adrian Schenker, Bob Becking, Kristin De Troyer, Juha Pakkala, Zipora Talshir, James C. Book excerpt: The checkered story of the kings, lasting nearly five centuries, ended disastrously in 587 BC with the sack of Jerusalem, the fall of the monarchy, and the removal to Babylonia of all that made Judah politically viable. It was a death to make way for a rebirth. The closely related books of Ezra and Nehemiah chart the Jews' return from exile to Jerusalem and the beginnings of that rebirth. As the drama unfolds, Geert Lorein explains, we see the good hand of God at work through it all. Tyndale Old Testament Commentaries are designed to help the reader of the Bible understand what the text says and what it means. The Introduction to each book gives a concise but thorough treatment of its authorship, date, original setting, and purpose. Following a structural Analysis, the Commentary takes the book section by section, drawing out its main themes, and also comments on individual verses and problems of interpretation. Additional Notes provide fuller discussion of particular difficulties. In the new Old Testament volumes, the commentary on each section of the text is structured under three headings: Context, Comment, and Meaning. The goal is to explain the true meaning of the Bible and make its message plain.

Book excerpt: Some of the greatest moments of religious history have occurred when a poignant experience or event flies in the face of the traditional theological worldview cherished by an individual or society. A fascinating case study of one such occurrence lies open in the text of 4 Ezra (2 Esdras 3-14), wherein a learned Jewish scribe of the first century CE rethinks his inherited theological views concerning a trascendent creator who is powerful, loving and just. This guide introduces the reader in a non-technical but informed manner to the text of 4 Ezra, locating it in its historical, theological and social setting, reviewing interpretive approaches, and demonstrating how the author boldly struggles to understand God's grand reputation in the light of a world out of joint. The guide also examines 4 Ezra's influence within the Christian Church, and introduces the historical situations and theologies of the Christian texts, 5 Ezra (2 Esdras 1-2) and 6 Ezra (2 Esdras 15-16).

The volume also includes a German version of the public lecture on the significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls for the Study of Old Testament and of Early Judaism delivered in Dutch by Van der Woude during the symposium.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ezra and the Second Wilderness addresses the relationship between Ezra, the Ezra Memoir, and the Pentateuch. Tracing the growth of the Ezra Memoir and its incorporation into Ezra-Nehemiah, Philip Y. Yoo discusses the literary strategies utilized by some of the composers and redactors operating in the post-exilic period. After the strata in Ezra 7-10 and Nehemiah 8-10 are identified, what emerges as the base Ezra Memoir is a coherent account of Ezra's leadership of the exiles from Babylon over the course of a single year, one that is intricately modelled on the multiple presentations of Moses and the Israelite wilderness preserved in the Pentateuch. Through discussion of the detected influences, allusions, and omissions between the Pentateuch and the Ezra Memoir, Yoo shows that the Ezra Memoir demonstrates a close understanding of its source materials and received traditions as it constructs the Babylonian returnees as the inheritors of torah and, in turn, the true and unparalleled successors of the Israelite cult. This study presents the Ezra Memoir as a sophisticated example of 'biblical' interpretation in the Second Temple period. It also suggests that the Ezra Memoir has access to the Pentateuch in only its constituent parts. Acknowledging not only the antiquity but also efficacy of its prototypes, the Ezra Memoir employs a variety of hermeneutical strategies in order to harmonize the competing claims of its authoritative sources. In closing the temporal gap between these sources and its own contemporary time, the Ezra Memoir grants authority to the utopic past yet also projects its own vision for the proper worship of Israel's deity.

The events of exile and return made it impossible to completely fall back on the traditional religious identity. The essays in this volume try to reconstruct the path taken in that transition. The characters of Ezra and Nehemiah are generally seen as playing a formative role in this process. By reading texts from the biblical books supposedly written by Ezra and Nehemiah in a religio-historical context, new light falls on the process of change.

Book excerpt: While the turn of the century has seen a number of secular sources proclaiming the end of the worldsuch as Y2K or the end of the Mayan calendaronly to see these events come and go, there persists yet another source that still accurately foretells the events and phenomena we see play out on the worlds scene. Instead of focusing on fleeting signs and events, the Bible shows us how a growing tide of global conflict, human suffering, and natural disasters points toward a powerful truth: we are living in the end times. In The Second Coming of Jesus Christ: An Analysis of End Time Bible Prophecy, author David L. Toney explores how contemporary events not only parallel but also signify the fulfilment of Bible prophecies throughout both the Old and New Testaments. From the return of the Jews to Israel as foretold in Ezekiel, to the rise of the Antichrist as anticipated in Revelation, discover prophecies and the modern-day events related to the end of the six-thousand-year reign of humanity, the stirrings of World War III, and the appearance of catastrophic natural phenomena. That we are living in the end times is good news for good people and bad news for bad people, and the most important event prophesied to take place in these latter yearsthe second coming of Jesus Christwill soon take place.

Book excerpt: 1 Esdras is an alternative version of the book of Ezra-Nehemiah in the Septuagint. Most Eastern Orthodox churches accord the book canonical status. This is the first commentary on 1 Esdras based on the critical text of the Göttingen Septuagint edition. It understands 1 Esdras not simply as a fragment of the Chronistic history or as merely a compilation, but rather as a coherent narrative. Its interpretation as a literary work and the reconstruction of its composition take into account both the historical backgrounds of the narrative setting of the Persian period and the historical location of the composition in the Hasmonaean period. 1 Esdras is currently enjoying a period of renewed attention in scholarship. Its relationship to Ezra-Nehemiah is seen as a prime example of literary-historical developments in Israel.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first study of the reception of the apocryphal Second Book of Esdras (4 Ezra) from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century. Professor Hamilton discusses the concepts of biblical apocrypha and canonicity in connection with the increasingly critical attitude to religious authority which developed with the humanists and intensified with the Reformation. The Book owed its initial success to Hebraists such as Pico della Mirandola and Bibliander. It was used to account for the origins of Jewish Kabbalah and to prophesy political and religious events: the fall of the Ottoman empire, or the destruction of the papacy. Anabaptists, dissident Protestants of various persuasions, Rosicrucians and Paracelsians consulted it not only as a work of prophecy but, it is argued, as an emblem of dissent, rejected by the official Churches. At the same time more sober scholars, both Protestants and Catholics, scrutinized 2 Esdras with greater objectivity, endeavouring to date it correctly and establish its authorship. This study also investigates the interaction between their views and those of the Book's enthusiastic supporters.

Book excerpt: 2nd Esdras is one of the most powerful prophetic displays in history yet mostly hidden today from plain sight in the church. As it claims authorship from the Prophet Ezra 400 years prior to Messiah, it even foretells His birth in 400 years from that date as well as identifies Him as Yahusha in name. It preserves the trail of the Lost Tribes of the Northern Kingdom of Israel in which we have provided maps and charts including other scripture and history which serve as the foundation for such location. This will blow many away as we can know where the Lost Tribes migrated en masse. Experience the origin of many portions of Revelation and we will prove well before Revelation was written. The Final Eagle Empire prophecy, a continuation of Daniel's prophecy of the Four Beasts will raise the hairs on the back of your neck when you realize just how close to home it is today and we provide a chart with our interpretation of its three ruling heads. Once most have completed reading this curation, they will wonder why we have not had this knowledge all along. We will vet this book and 1st Esdras and prove it was written prior to the New Testament and is the origin of the words of Messiah and the Apostles many times especially the Book of Revelation. There is a reason this book as well as 1st Esdras both remain in some Bibles today as scripture and their historicity is not debatable as they appear in the 1560 Geneva Bible and Original, Authorized 1611 King James Version. Translators did not waste their time translating this into English as they did scripture for no reason. If you are KJV Only, you may want to look at the original 1611 version which included both of these books. In this annotation of 2nd Esdras with 1st Esdras, we have restored the Original 1611 King James Version and revised the English, curated margin notes, and provided detailed explanations including charts, maps, etc. We have also restored the Hebrew name of YHWH, Yahuah, for "the Lord" throughout as well as other Hebrew names in some cases. This should be done in all of scripture as His very name is there in Hebrew over 6,800 times in the Old Testament. Our introduction unveils our research on who lived in Qumran (not Essenes), the identity of the Qumran Priests, who defiled the Temple, vets Hanukkah, and Purim as well the Book of Esther, Messiah in Esdras, the name of YHWH in Esdras, etc. We are not scholars and this is an educated layman's view of 1st and 2nd Esdras which many will find more valuable than most scholarly approaches. This work will teach and draw conclusions. In these days of increasing knowledge, some such knowledge is actually ancient knowledge restored. We believe you will find this is the case with 2nd Esdras as well as 1st Esdras. As the international authors of The Book of Jubilees: The Torah Calendar, The Search for King Solomon's Treasure: The Lost Isles of Gold and the Garden of Eden and Ophir Philippines Coffee Table Book, Timothy Schwab and Anna Zamoranos joined by their research team from The God Culture have once again curated another book tied to the Qumran Scrolls which will enlighten many. Review their findings and prove all things, hold fast that which is good (1 Th. 5:21).
