Book Synopsis Intercultural Transfer of Management Practices of German MNC to Brazil by : Madeleine Bausch
Download or read book Intercultural Transfer of Management Practices of German MNC to Brazil written by Madeleine Bausch and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-07-14 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multinational companies transfer managerial practices such as quality management globally. Studies from different perspectives have examined cultural, institutional, and organizational challenges in practice transfer, however, little is known about the micro-processes of intercultural transfer, especially in complex cultural settings as Brazil. Integrating the recontextualization perspective and Scandinavian institutionalist transfer-as-translation approach, this book explores micro-processes of transfer from German MNC to Brazilian subsidiaries from a multiple cultures perspective. Findings show the complementary nature of micro-processes of translation and recontextualization, embedding them into a process model of four stages: Preparation, translation, recontextualization, and institutionalization. Intercultural transfer can be considered an iterative and multi-level process in which practices diffuse from individuals, to teams, to the organization. The book contributes to international management by cross-fertilizing the two approaches, by highlighting cultural and institutional particularities of the Brazilian context using a culturally sensitive methodology, and by showing the transformative power of managerial practices on organizations and ecosystems.
Book Synopsis Improving Training Effectiveness in Work Organizations by : J. Kevin Ford
Download or read book Improving Training Effectiveness in Work Organizations written by J. Kevin Ford and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2014-01-14 with total page 446 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Each chapter provides an integrative summary of a research area with the goal of developing a specific research agenda that will not only stimulate thinking in the training field but also direct future research. By concentrating on new ideas and critical methodological and measurement issues rather than summarizing existing literature, the volume offers definitive suggestions for advancing the effectiveness of the training field. Its chapters focus on emerging issues in training that have important implications for improving both training design and efficacy. They discuss various levels of analysis-- intra-individual, inter-individual, team, and organizational issues--and the factors relevant to achieving a better understanding of training effectiveness from these different perspectives. This type of coverage provides a theoretically driven scientist/practitioner orientation to the book.

Book Synopsis Promoting Spontaneous Use of Learning and Reasoning Strategies by : Emmanuel Manalo
Download or read book Promoting Spontaneous Use of Learning and Reasoning Strategies written by Emmanuel Manalo and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-10-03 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, scholars from around the world develop viable answers to the question of how it may be possible to promote students’ spontaneity in the use of learning and reasoning strategies. They combine their expertise to put forward new theories and models for understanding the underlying mechanisms; provide details of new research to address pertinent questions and problems; and describe classroom practices that have proven successful in promoting spontaneous strategy use. This book is a must for educators and researchers who truly care that schooling should cultivate learning and reasoning strategies in students that would prepare and serve them for life. A seminal resource, this book will address the basic problem that many educators are well acquainted with: that students can learn how to effectively use learning and reasoning strategies but not use them of their own volition or in settings other than the one in which they learned the strategies.
