Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A survey of 'spiritualities of the Spirit' embracing both the Pentecostal tradition and the charismatic movement in the major western churches. There are an estimated 500 million ‘Pentecostal’ or charismatic Christians, often belonging to relatively new churches, and they make up the most vibrant and fastest-growing parishes and communities in the world. Yet as Mark Cartledge shows, charismatic spirituality has been a feature of Christianity from the earliest days, even if aspects of it have often been marginalized and ignored. His masterly introductory survey, ideal for both the general reader and the student, traces the movement back to the Bible and the work of Tertullian, to Montanism, Simeon the New Theologian, Joachim of Fiore, John Wesley, and recent charismatic and neo-charismatic renewal sources.

Book excerpt: Rev. 2:7 'He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the Churches.' He says it to each of the seven churches giving them warning as to what will happen if they don't listen. Later in the same book, he says something that opened my understanding to the reason people don't hear. He says, 'If any man have an ear, let him hear.' This indicates to me, the Spirit will no longer be speaking to people because He is no longer in the world. Those left behind will only be able to hear with the natural ear what is going on around them. I would warn the church to listen NOW while there is still time to hear the Spirit and obey the Lord. There is coming a time when the Spirit will no longer speak to the hearts of man, for judgment will be falling on the world who would not listen. It will be a time of famine of the Word. I pray the church wake up now. Don't be like the five virgins, who feel asleep with no oil in their lamps and woke up left behind. Now is the day of salvation, now is the day to listen with the ear of the Spirit and have a Holy Spirit encounter that will change your life. You can't change yourself, you can only die to the self life and grow in the God life the savior provided for you at the cross. Living in the Last Days is not a popular phrase, but it is what is happening. We have no leadership, and preachers are preaching to itching ears and tickling ears. Hearts are cold or very lukewarm with no attention span to help one another to grow. Evil is growing and good people are doing nothing because they are too busy, to overworked, to far asleep. 666 is now here and is going to be required by government and good people are doing nothing because they don't care, don't see what it happening right in front of them. The evil that is in the middle east will be in American unless people wake up and listen with the ear of the Spirit and do it soon.

All believers can have powerful divine encounters with the Spirit—not as isolated events but as a lifestyle in which… The supernatural realm is your greatest reality. Jesus becomes real in you. You are commissioned to demonstrate God’s miraculous power. You have a profound desire for more of God’s presence. To experience divine encounters, you need to have a strong understanding of who the Holy Spirit is. Apostle Guillermo Maldonado clears up doubts and false concepts about the Spirit while providing striking testimonies of people transformed by their supernatural encounters. Entering into an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit will fill you with God’s love and give you a compassionate heart for a hurting world. You don’t have to be a spiritual leader, and you don’t have to be perfect, to experience the presence of God and continue the works of Jesus on earth. All you need is a powerful divine encounter with the Holy Spirit.

You find yourself acting the same and yielding to those same old temptations - that didn't seem to change either. So you wonder, Has anything really changed? The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you'll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like: "How could God love somebody like me?" and "How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don't deserve it, I'm not good enough!" Spirit, Soul, and Body will help you eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith. If you have trouble receiving from God, this is a must-read!

The Holy Spirit empowers us, guides us, and enables us to grow and endure in our relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ. Often the most misunderstood member of the Trinity, the person of the Spirit continues to attract attention today amidst church revivals and renewals. In this new edition of his classic Keep in Step with the Spirit, J. I. Packer seeks to help Christians reaffirm the biblical call to holiness and the Spirit s role in keeping our covenant with God. Packer guides us through the riches and depth of the Spirit s work, assesses versions of holiness and the charismatic life, and shows how Christ must always be at the centre of true Spirit-led ministry. A new chapter explores Christian assurance. With abiding relevance and significance, Keep in Step with the Spirit sets forth vital knowledge for healthy and joyous Christian living, through understanding and experience of God the Holy Spirit. Here is a book for every serious believer to read and re-read.

Book excerpt: Christ promised his disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came on them, and that they would be his witnesses across the world. When the Spirit did come to them in tongues of fire, thousands believed in Christ and were saved. That same miracle, that same Spirit, is alive in us today.so why are all of us-from the evangelical to the charismatic-so desperate for an intimate encounter with God? Why don't we feel like the new creations we know we are? Pastor and theologian Simon Ponsonby believes that the hunger we feel is a desire for more of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Many Christins have emphasized the experience of the Spirit and neglected the Word, while others have emphasized the Word and neglected the Spirit. Either way, we've become so accustomed to living in the shallow waters of Christianity that we've forgotten the depth of that promised power, and the depth of the love that gave this power to us. In More, Simon invites you to journey with him into the deep waters of God's love. While both biblical and practical, what he says also has the power to inspire in you a new love and a new understanding of everything we've been given in Christ. Are you ready? This journey may not be comfortable or easy, but it will bring you more joy and more of God than you can even imagine.
