Thus it became pertinent to find out the relationship between emotional intelligence and productivity of Software Professionals of Trivandrum Technopark, Kerala, India. The most valuable asset of a 21st century institution (whether business or non-business) will be its knowledge workers and their productivity. Since knowledge workers have a greater impact in the economy‘s performance, they are perceived as an important area of opportunity and are starting to be included in organizational strategic plans to improve productivity. Increasing the productivity of knowledge workers provides a prospect for increasing profits by improving the overall process or product instead of simply eliminating costs.
