Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses urban ecology, green technology, problems with climate change prediction, groundwater contamination, invasive species and many other topics, and offers a guardedly optimistic interpretation of humanity's place in nature and our unique caretaker role. Drawing upon scholarly and media sources, the author presents a common-sense analysis of environmental science, debunking eco-apocalyptic thinking along the way. Compromised science masquerading as authoritative is revealed as a fundraising and policy-influencing crusade by the environmental elite, overshadowing unambiguous problems like environmental racism.

Book excerpt: God created you for a reason, for a calling. The important question to answer is, "Do you want to fulfill your God-given calling?" If so, you can't ignore financial stewardship. Whether rich, poor, or somewhere in between, God has called on you to competently manage your financial resources because poor stewardship of them will hinder your attention and the resources required to accomplish the purposes God intended you to fulfill. This book is not about how to manage your finances. There are plenty of books and courses that can teach you that. This book is purposed toward the why-why it is important to manage your financial resources well so that you can successfully walk the path God has laid out for you. To do all this, being a good steward of your resources must be addressed, thus not willingly ignored. Over my thirty-five-plus years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant, I have been intrigued by how money influences people's behavior no matter their economic status. Throughout this book, I will guide you to various Scriptures that will help you manage your finances as God intended. They will help you avoid the problems that arise when the little money god pushes God aside, takes over the reins, and consumes you. A big deterrent in carrying out God's plan for one's life is failing to realize that the resources He has given you have kingdom purposes. For that reason, shift from self-centered planning to eternity planning. People's tendency to focus on the "here and now" prevents many from understanding why God has given them what He has. I have been there myself. Something about eternity seems so distant that we do not feel we need to address our finances right this second. On the other hand, we acknowledge that our lives could end at any second, yet we still live as if that won't happen right now.I prayerfully hope you are inspired to be the steward God intended. I encourage you to handle your finances God's way so that your finances don't mishandle you.

Book excerpt: Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1, , language: English, abstract: The quest for excellence, growth, and sustainability in Christian tertiary institutions is intrinsically interwoven with the institutional mission and social justice. The urgency of the quest has escalated as the United States of America strives to educate its citizens to work, live, and contribute in a constantly changing global context. Thus, the Christian tertiary institutions, accommodating a diverse student population, sustainability require success in engaging, attracting and retaining diverse donors, faculty, and staff. Consequently, the significance of institutional leadership in developing a sustainable commitment to tertiary education is recognized. As the demands for Christian education systems have increased, student motivation and new methods of achieving student academic outcomes continue to be increasingly elusive. Research has, however found that improved academic outcomes can be attained through effective school leadership which attends to the needs of the tertiary institutions. The studies have found that creative, visionary, knowledgeable, and inspiring educational leaders are critical to the building and fostering of a positive institutional environment to help attain the education goals and the sustainability of the institutions beyond the twenty-first century. Consequently, the leaders and sponsors must display the stewardship tenets as a practical operational approach to the management and sustainability of the institutions. The aim of this research is to discuss the financial and material stewardship for sustaining Christian Tertiary institutions.

Book excerpt: The goal of this book, says author Charles Lane, is to perform a dramatic rescue of stewardship, freeing it from any connection whatsoever to "paying the bills." When the Bible talks about stewardship it almost always talks about the intimate connection between how a person handles financial matters and that person's relationship with God. Stewardship is an intensely spiritual matter that lies close to a disciple's relationship with Jesus. The book is designed especially for use in congregational planning and study. Congregational stewardship leaders will come back to three foundational verbs ? ask, thank, tell ? over and over as they help individuals experience the joy of giving generously. The author makes the convincing case that there is little in life today that can help a disciple grow in relationship with Jesus more than a solid intentional biblical stewardship.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Achieving true wholesome sustainability requires a change of heart. Hence this book starts in the heart. It asks the timely question of ‘how do we become true water stewards?’ The transformation to a new sustainable practice will be made through a new connection with our heart, a more holistic type of analysis (brains) and the right actions based on personal integrity (hand). A water steward should be similar to the shepherds of olden days. They were given the responsibility to guard the sheep. The village trusted they would take care of the flock, make sure it would be well fed, protected from storms and kept together. The shepherd learned to take a long term perspective for the flock, ensuring that the pastures were not overgrazed, that the flock was not led too far away from access to water and that shelter was in reach in the event of storms and dangerous predators. Over time the shepherds became increasingly skilled in caring for the flock. They integrated the responsibility of the well-being of the flock into their identity. In a similar way, we can take the responsibility for human water consumption and our interaction with the natural world. We need to understand and work according to the big picture and the very long term perspective. Being a water steward requires deep reflection of how water should be treated and our relationship with water. Water utility professionals have the knowledge and have been trusted with the role of managing human water consumption. This is a great responsibility and requires deep reflection of how this should be done. The book will present ideas and concepts for the new role as well as questions for personal reflection.
