Respondiendo a sus compromisos internacionales y con la Unión Europea, en mayo de 2020 el gobierno estatal remitió al Congreso, para su tramitación parlamentaria, el proyecto de «Ley de Cambio Climático y Transición Energética», que incorpora la acción climática a todos los sectores económicos.
