Al inicio se realizan unas precisiones referentes al significado de la expresion "Proceso de Paz," pues nos encontramos frente a un termino que seguramente se utilice de forma cotidiana, pero que es, casi seguro afirmar, que gran parte de los receptores de dicha informacion, no tienen un conocimiento suficiente de su significado real; entonces resulta de vital importancia, determinar unas nociones basicas para obtener un mejor entendimiento. A continuacion se presentan varios Estados que se han visto involucrados en Procesos de Paz, con diferentes actores insurgentes de ideologias distintas, quiza unas de Izquierda y otras de Derecha, pero sin duda alguna, todos grupos insurgentes, perpetradores de actos en contra de la poblacion civil, que cometen delitos de lesa humanidad; lo anterior, implica la existencia de un comun denominador entre todos estos grupos, un elemento que podriamos denominar como terrorismo. No es necesario remitirnos a fronteras lejanas para encontrar casos de Procesos de Paz, pues en Latinoamerica se han presentado diversos casos de Justicia Transicional, especificamente en los Estados de Nicaragua, El Salvador y Guatemala, y como es de saber, Colombia. La segunda mitad del trabajo se enfoca en la historia y la situacion actual de los Procesos de Paz en Colombia. Colombia no solo es un Pais reconocido por sus innumerables intentos para alcanzar la Paz con los grupos al margen de la Ley que han participado en el conflicto, sino que tambien, es referente en cuanto a la implementacion y adaptacion de diversos modelos novedosos en cada uno de sus procesos."
