El segundo bloque intenta aportar soluciones a corto/medio plazo, de manera que en nuestra sociedad sea capaz de pasar de la incertidumbre a una sociedad que emplea la energía que precisa de manera limpia y sostenible. El bloque se compone de: Las energías renovables, y Biomasa y Bioenergía. En el último bloque se postulan y justifican las soluciones: Conclusiones. Energías renovables versus convencionales.Para establecer el nuevo modelo, se parte de un consumo eléctrico, para 2040,de 424,9 TWh/año, cifra que se justifica por el aumento demográfico, el incremento específico energético y un coeficiente reductor por eficiencia. El nuevo modelo energético postula que se puede llegar al 73,2% de generación a partir de fuentes renovables a un costo de generación muy inferior al actual. Al principio de cada cap¡tulo aparecen unas conclusiones o puntos más destacados, demanera que se pueda llevar a cabo una lectura rápida del libro tan solo con los resúmenes iniciales.
