Book excerpt: Este estudo tem por objetivo investigar fundamentos epistemológicos e pedagógicos a partir da reflexão baseada na análise de trabalhos de pesquisa acadêmica em educação ambiental, publicados em documentos de eventos, com relevância na área educacional brasileira. O corpus documental é composto por anais, atas e/ou coletâneas de textos do Simpósio Sul Brasileiro de Educação Ambiental (SSBEA), Encontro Perspectivas do Ensino de Biologia (EPEB), Reunião Anual da Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação (ANPEd), Encontro de Pesquisa em Educação Ambiental (EPEA) e Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Educação em Ciências (ENPEC), realizados no período de 2000 a 2005. A análise dos 31 trabalhos selecionados é de abordagem qualitativa, fundamentada na técnica de análise de conteúdo. A análise epistemológica é desenvolvida segundo o modelo proposto por Kearney e, posteriormente, modificado por Cobern. Para a realização dessa análise, propõe-se um quadro de correlações entre as sete categorias constituintes do conceito de visão de mundo: Eu, Não Eu, Classificação, Relação, Causalidade, Tempo e Espaço. Os aspectos pedagógicos da educação ambiental são analisados a partir de categorias que emergiram da leitura dos trabalhos, quais sejam: abordagem transversal e interdisciplinar, abordagens metodológicas e inserção da educação ambiental nas disciplinas de Ciências Naturais e de Biologia. Essas categorias são relacionadas com a formação continuada de professores. Os resultados da análise epistemológica mostram que, entre os pesquisadores, há predominância de visão de mundo integrada e, entre os professores participantes das pesquisas, predomina a visão de mundo fragmentária e, em alguns casos, há visão de mundo intermediária. Quanto aos resultados da análise pedagógica, verifica-se que a transversalidade e a interdisciplinaridade são abordadas no discurso e em práticas de educação ambiental no contexto escolar. Quanto à abordagem metodológica, constata-se pluralidade de ações. Nas disciplinas de Ciências Naturais e de Biologia, há ênfase a idéias conservacionistas, que compreendem ações voltadas apenas aos aspectos físicos e biológicos do meio ambiente. Essas categorias articulam-se com a formação continuada de professores. Conclui-se que, como as práticas pedagógicas decorrem da visão de mundo do professor, o desenvolvimento da visão de mundo integrada é determinante para que a educação ambiental seja efetiva.
