Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Faire la classe à l'école maternelle by : Christine Caffieaux
Download or read book Faire la classe à l'école maternelle written by Christine Caffieaux and published by De Boeck Fondamental. This book was released on 2011-10-17 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Alekhine's Anguish written by Charles D. Yaffe and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2010-06-28 with total page 414 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a fictionalized account of the life and career of world chess champion Alexander Alekhine. Born into Russian nobility, Alekhine lost his family and nearly his life to the Bolsheviks before becoming the world's most powerful chess player. The coming of World War II placed the grandmaster in a difficult position, forcing him to collaborate with the Nazis and to produce anti-Semitic materials. Desperate to win back his credibility after the war, Alekhine was preparing for a redemptive title match at the time of his sudden death. Alekhine's life was marked by alcoholism, fits of depression, scandalous affairs, marriages of convenience, painful compromises, and his battle to become "the Greatest." The novel is told as fiction but is based on the actual people and events that were part of his triumphant career and troubled life.

Book Synopsis Lifelong Education by : Paul Bélanger
Download or read book Lifelong Education written by Paul Bélanger and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1995-05-31 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The basic aim of this special issue is to focus on the profound change of tendency in education that is taking place at both the national and interna tional level. At a time when education and lifelong learning are increasingly merging into one process, it is important to examine the ways in which edu cational policies and practices are evolving. Consequently, we invited a variety of contributors, both men and women, coming from different regions and encompassing both research and practice, to identify significant phenomena and trends that are indicative of the ways in which systems of education are responding to new social and cultural demands. We asked our contributors to show how educational reality in different countries is no longer confined within the temporal and spatial limits of institutional education, to indicate how models of educational practice are changing, to examine the extent to which the traditional cycles of human life are shifting their boundaries, and to describe how these changes are mani festing themselves in different national contexts in both South and North. We also asked our authors to pose questions raised by this educational revolution. We have included 17 contributions, some of the authors analysing par ticular national situations, others drawing questions and observations from their own experiences or taking a searching look at education from the perspective of a practical involvement in social iSl>ues or from a background of research into popular arts and traditions.
Download or read book Perspectives written by Sajitha Bashir and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2019-08-28 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Multilingualism, Education and Change by : Jean Jacques Weber
Download or read book Multilingualism, Education and Change written by Jean Jacques Weber and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2009 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book about language and education in one of the smallest European Union member-states, Luxembourg. It presents the results of an ethnographic study of code-switching and language ideologies among transnational, luso-descendant youngsters attending a number of youth centres in Luxembourg city. It offers a comprehensive description of the processes of construction and negotiation of new, emergent identities and ethnicities. The author considers the implications of these results for language-in-education policy, including the EU policy of multilingualism. He criticizes mother-tongue education and advocates instead the use of «literacy bridges». Clearly argued and widely applicable, this book is essential reading for students and researchers interested in multilingualism, migration and education.
