Book excerpt: The first book in the Seasons of the Heart series is set in Connecticut in 1888, the year of what historians call “The White Hurricane.” The story reveals the power of God’s love to change lives and heal hearts. Summer Dream tells of a young couple’s love for each other and the obstacles that stand in their path of happiness. Until Nathan Reed resolves his anger with God and his family, he has no hopes of courting Rachel Winston, the minister’s daughter. As the daughter of a small-town minister in Connecticut, Rachel Winston believes the only way she’ll ever have a husband is to visit her aunt in Boston for the social season until Nathan Reed arrives in town. Although attracted to Rachel, Nathan avoids her because he has no desire to become involved with a Christian after experiences with his own family. When a devastating blizzard paralyzes New England, Nathan is caught in it and lies near death in the Winston home. Through the ministrations and tender care of Rachel and her mother, Nathan learns a lesson in love and forgiveness that leads him back to his home in the South. Before he can declare his love for Rachel, he must make amends with his own family. Will he return to Connecticut before Rachel leaves her home to head west as a missionary in Oklahoma Territory?

This book was released on 2014-10-23 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Analytical-Literal Translation of Bible (ALT) is translated by Gary F. Zeolla. The ALT is contained in seven volumes. They are: Volume I - The Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy) Volume II - The Historical Books (Joshua to Esther) Volume III - The Poetic Books (Job to Song of Solomon) Volume IV - The Prophetic Books (Isaiah to Malachi) Volume V - The Apocryphal/ Deuterocanonical Books Volume VI - The New Testament Volume VII - The Apostolic Fathers The purpose of the ALT is to provide a translation of all of these books that will enable the English reader to come as close to the Greek texts as possible without having to be proficient in Greek. And the name of the ALT reflects this purpose. "Literal" refers to the fact that the ALT is a word for word translation. All words in the original text are translated-nothing is omitted. The original grammar of the text is retained as much as possible. Any words added for clarity are bracketed, so nothing is added without it being indicated as such. "Analytical" refers to the detailed "analysis" done on the grammar of the text. The grammar is then translated in a way which brings out "nuances" of the original text that are often missed in traditional translations. In addition, "analytical" refers to the aids that are included within the text which enable the reader to "analyze" and understand the text. Such information is bracketed. It includes the following: 1. Alternative translations for words and phrases. 2. Possible figurative meanings or paraphrases of words and phrases. 3. Modern-day equivalents for measurement and monetary units and time designations. 4. Explanatory notes. 5. Cross references. "Translation" refers to the conversion of the original Greek text into English. Modern-day English is used, and despite its literalness, the ALT is a relatively easy to read and understand. Versions Notes: The version of the ALT: OT published in 2023 is a corrected text, not a full new edition. Only minor corrections have been made, plus the cover and appendixes have been updated. The "Regular" paperback and hardback versions of the ALT: OT are printed on 8-1/2"x11" pages in double columns using Times New Roman 10-point font. But a Personal Size Version is also available . It is printed on 6" x 9" pages in single columns using the same font size. Many requested this smaller page size, so I am making it available. However, due to the smaller page size, the number of pages and thus the cost of the book is greater.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authoritative edition of Jung’s essential writings for understanding his early enthusiasm for—and later split with—Freud and psychoanalysis Freud and Psychoanalysis gathers Jung’s writings on Freud and psychoanalysis published between 1906 and 1916, along with two later, related papers. The book covers the period of the enthusiastic collaboration between the two pioneers of psychology through the years when Jung’s growing appreciation of religious experience, his criticism of Freud’s emphasis on pathology, and other differences led to Jung’s formal break with his mentor. Part I features brief studies of Freud’s theory of hysteria, dream analysis, the psychology of rumor, and other subjects. Parts II and III contain the essentials of the criticism that led to Jung’s rupture with Freud, the most important of which is “The Theory of Psychoanalysis.” Part IV presents “The Significance of the Father in the Destiny of the Individual.” The book’s final two pieces, “Freud and Jung: Contrasts” and the introduction to a book by W. M. Kranefeldt, further illuminate Jung’s reassessment of psychoanalysis.

Book excerpt: In this four volume series, Hijacked!: How Dr. King's Dream Became a Nightmare, author Clarence Washington Sr. dissects Dr. Martin Luther King's dream and explores how our failure to adhere to its principles has allowed the dream to be hijacked and turned to a nightmare—and it’s time to wake up. In the first volume of the Hijacked! collection, The Dream, the author clarifies the principles for social justice and freedom for all Americans that Dr. King delineated in his monumental speech. God gave Dr. Martin Luther King a road map for America to follow in his "I Have a Dream" speech and his numerous other orations and writings. In order to apply the principles of the dream effectively and make it a reality, one must understand: the goals and methods of the dream; the methods employed in the hijack of the dream; the devastating nightmarish consequences produced by the hijack; and the revival, government reformation strategy, and reformation of other institutions that must be executed to accomplish the recovery from the nightmarish times in which we are living. For the full dissection of Dr. King's dream and how our failure to adhere to its principles has led to a nightmare, explore the other volumes in Hijacked!: How Dr. King's Dream Became a Nightmare. Other volumes in this series focus on the hijack itself, the nightmare, and how we can recover.
