Book Synopsis Making the Gods Speak by : Vincent Goossaert
Download or read book Making the Gods Speak written by Vincent Goossaert and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2023-11-20 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For two millennia, Chinese society has been producing divine revelations on an unparalleled scale, in multifarious genres and formats. This book is the first comprehensive attempt at accounting for the processes of such production. It builds a typology of the various ritual techniques used to make gods present and allow them to speak or write, and it follows the historical development of these types and the revealed teachings they made possible. Within the large array of visionary, mediumistic, and mystical techniques, Vincent Goossaert devotes the bulk of his analysis to spirit-writing, a family of rites that appeared around the eleventh century and gradually came to account for the largest numbers of books and tracts ascribed to the gods. In doing so, he shows that the practice of spirit-writing must be placed within the framework of techniques used by ritual specialists to control human communications with gods and spirits for healing, divining, and self-divinization, among other purposes. Making the Gods Speak thus offers a ritual-centered framework to study revelation in Chinese cultural history and comparatively with the revelatory practices of other religious traditions.

The Epistles come after the four Gospels and the Acts. The Gospels are a full record of the Lord Jesus Christ—who He is, what He did, what He accomplished, and what He attained. After this, the Acts gives us a record of the spread, the propagation, of this Christ, which is the church as the Body of Christ. In the four Gospels we have the Head, and in the Acts we have the Body, the propagation and continuation of the Head. After this, the twenty-two books from Romans to Revelation present a full definition, explanation, and revelation of the wonderful and mysterious economy of God.”

Download or read book Sacred Pace written by Terry Looper and published by HarperChristian + ORM. This book was released on 2019-02-26 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do we hear from God and discern His will when it’s time to make big decisions? Terry Looper shares a four-step process for doing just that - a process he has learned and refined over thirty years as a Christian entrepreneur and founder of a multi-billion dollar company. At just thirty-six years old, Terry Looper was a successful Christian businessman who thought he had it all—until managing all he had led to a devastating burnout. Wealthy beyond his wildest dreams but miserable beyond belief, Terry experienced a radical transformation when he discovered how to align himself with God’s will in the years following his crash and burn. Sacred Pace is a four-step process that helps Christians in all walks of life learn how to slow down their decision-making under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, sift through their surface desires and sinful patterns in order to receive clear, peace-filled answers from the Lord, gain the confident assurance that God’s answers are His way of fulfilling the true desires he has placed in their hearts, and grow closer to the One who loves them most and knows them best. Sacred Pace is not another example of name-it-and-claim-it materialism in disguise. Instead, it walks Christians through the sometimes-painful process of “dying to self” in their decisions, both big and small, so that they desire God’s will more than their own.

Combined with scientific research that studies the effect that intensely practiced prayer can have on the mind, When God Talks Back examines how normal, sensible people—from college students to accountants to housewives, all functioning perfectly well within our society—can attest to having the signs and wonders of the supernatural become as quotidian and as ordinary as laundry. Astute, sensitive, and extraordinarily measured in its approach to the interface between science and religion, Luhrmann's book is sure to generate as much conversation as it will praise.

Book Synopsis God With Us and Without Us, Volume Two by : Imad N. Shehadeh
Download or read book God With Us and Without Us, Volume Two written by Imad N. Shehadeh and published by Langham Publishing. This book was released on 2019-10-31 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While volume 1 stressed the inevitability of Oneness in Trinity, this second volume of God With Us and Without Us demonstrates the beauty and life-transforming power of Oneness in Trinity. The nature of the eternal relationship between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit stands in contrast with the nature of God in Absolute Oneness. Dr Imad N. Shehadeh elucidates through careful argumentation and detailed critical thinking, why Oneness in Trinity is to be prized and what God would look like if He were not triune. By addressing the beauty and power of Oneness in Trinity, this book deepens our understanding of the Trinity as the solid foundation of all other doctrines. Dr Shehadeh explains the eternal activity of God outside creation, i.e., without us, as the stimulus of His activity within creation, i.e., with us. Dr Shehadeh also addresses the theological debate concerning the eternal generation of the Son and the eternal procession of the Holy Spirit. Most importantly however, this book convinces us of, and magnifies for us, the life-transforming power of the triune God.
Book Synopsis Igbo Mediators of Yahweh Culture of Life by : Philip Chidi Njemanze
Download or read book Igbo Mediators of Yahweh Culture of Life written by Philip Chidi Njemanze and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-08-14 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Igbo Mediators of Yahweh Culture of Life is a travel in time to where it all began. The book shows that the creator Yahweh was in full communication with his earliest created people, the Igbos, who lived his culture of life. God shares one language with the Igbos, through which he gave them the enlightenment of civilization for humanity. This civilization was documented in the Igbo pictographic writings called hieroglyphics, which have remained unknown until this first ever exposition by this book. It traces this history from the earliest (pictographic) writings dating back four thousand years ago in the caves in present-day Gabon, the rock paintings in the Sahara desert dating back 45,000 BC, and in the Chauvet caves in France dating back 35,000 BC. The hieroglyphics in ancient Egypt are for the first time explained in their original Igbo language with English translations. The original Igbo text of the Holy Scriptures is unveiled in a manner that brings true contextual understanding of the teachings of the prophets and the gospels. Using ethnolinguistics, anthropology, and archaeology, the exact origins of ancient biblical Israel was uncovered with specific names and locations of all the Jewish towns and villages as the existed then and to the present day in Igbo land, Nigeria. The location of the palace of King David and King Solomons temple are revealed to be existing in Owerri, Imo State. The exact place of the birth of Jesus Christ, the place where he lived, worked, was crucified and buried are all uncovered in this book. The discovery of highly developed Igbo technologies in ancient Egypt that were looted by Napoleon in 1799, and now used for reverse engineering to obtain many of the present-day technologies including electric battery, aircraft systems, space shuttle, submarines, helicopters, and others are demonstrated. The origin of the Igbos of Europe, China, and the Americas are unveiled. The UFOs writings obtained at Roswell in hieroglyphics were explained, and the author postulates a fascinating hypothesis that there are Igbos in another nearby galaxy! The book illustrates the intensifying struggle from the beginning of time between Gods Culture of Life and the Culture of Death. The book traces the prolife struggle against the Culture of Death, which though very much apparent in our time, has never eclipsed the enlightenment of the civilization of the Culture of Life. This book has fundamentally rewritten the World History as we know it. The book claims that, the Igbos are the Chosen People of God. The Igbos civilized the world as Pharaohs of ancient Egypt, the Kings of ancient Israel, the Greeks, the Phoenicians, Etruscans, Iberians, Carthaginians, Mayans, Olmecs, ancient Chinese, ancient Russians, Babylonians and Jewish authors of the Holy Bible. The spread of the Culture of Life provoked persecution and genocide against Igbos to this day. This is a Great Book of the Secrets of World Civilization. Read it!
Book Synopsis Book 9 Prophets HC by : Kurt Jurgensmeier
Download or read book Book 9 Prophets HC written by Kurt Jurgensmeier and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-08-22 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is God still giving revelation today? That question is at the heart of the claims of the largest theological "movement" of Christianity since the Reformation, charismaticism. And the foundation of their position is that the gift of prophecy is still operating today. This book is a detailed study of the gift and it defends the following: - Modern claims to prophecy are one of the most widespread and dangerous frauds in Christianity. - Real biblical Prophets spoke divinely authoritative revelation, and always predicted the future with perfect accuracy in order to authenticate themselves. - Modern so-called "prophets" either make mistaken predictions, or claim they don't even need to try. - There was no difference between the authority and purpose of OT Jewish Prophets like Jeremiah and NT Christian Prophets like Agabus. - The Church universally testified that the gift of prophecy ceased by the third century. - God really hates modern false claims to be speaking for Him.
