Book excerpt: The concept of blessing pervades the everyday life of Christians—from testimonies recounting God's provision, to praise songs, to wishing someone well. In fact, the term has been so integrated into Christian language that it is rarely considered thoughtfully. In the pages of Scripture, blessing seems to be either physical or spiritual, but a fuller biblical-theological approach reveals that God's blessing has always been both spiritual and physical. In Divine Blessing and the Fullness of Life in the Presence of God, William Osborne traces the theme of blessing throughout Scripture as he guides readers into a deeper understanding of how God's gracious benevolence impacts the everyday lives of Christians.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ABOOK OFDIVINE BLESSINGSEntering into the Best Things God has ordained for you in this lifeByLaFAMCALL (End-time) MinistriesPURPOSE OF THIS BOOKThe main focus of this book is broken down as follows:1 To show us that God really wants to bless us, both spiritually and materially.2 To show us how to obtain these blessings without undue struggles, with emphasis on doing it yourself.3 To put the records straight, to correct the impression that Christianity is full of restless efforts and fruitless exercises. To correct the impression that one has to do so much fasting, penance, long prayers and a host of other religious things before one can receive 'blessings' from God.4 To straighten up the records, to show what God's blessings really are and the simple way to get them, and to point out the wrong use of certain words, which we have been using to our own detriment.5 To show that the glorious presence of God is indeed all we need to do well in this life. It sufficed for the saints of old; it is also sufficient for us today, too, if we really taste of it, for, "in His presence is fullness of joy."6 To put the priorities right in our desires and pursuits. If 'one' must come before 'two', but we choose to do it the other way (i.e. we put 'two' before 'one'), it will not work. Spiritual things are governed by certain principles and laws. If we disregard these divine principles and orders, we will not get the result we expect no matter how we fast and pray!7 We are now in the End-time, when satan will use hardship as a weapon to try to lure the saints away from their faith and then destroy them. (Matthew 24: 12). We must now draw close enough to the Lord Jesus and shield ourselves in His presence, as the only sure way to overcome, to the end.8 To correct the impression that God is only 'spiritual', 'spiritual', 'spiritual'. No! God is also 'physical', 'physical', 'physical'. After all, He gave us the spirit and the body, therefore He cares for both. When He sent Elijah to brook Kerith and Zarephat for his spiritual training, He also arranged for the ravens to feed his physical body too! In fact, the woman of Zarephat was asked to give him food, first! So God cares for both our spiritual and material needs, only that we have to be disciplined and orderly about it. (Matthew 6: 33).9 There is so much deception in today's church. This is because there is hardship and suffering in the land and people are rushing to the church for 'solution', However, rather than get help from our leaders, many leaders have turned the whole exercise into a theatre of exploitation, employing all sorts of gimmicks to milk the already confused and lost sheep. The Lord now wants to reach each sheep personally and directly, so as to put life back into them and bind their many wounds, feed them, all by Himself. So, the emphasis here is on do it yourself, alone with God.10 It is a call to 'Discipleship'. The ultimate gospel commission is that we should "make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28: 19-20). Gathering the crowd is now over. It is now time for discipleship, leading people to begin to know Jesus personally and intimately. That was how the church started - on a note of discipleship. That is how it will also end. Now is the time to do it.And Moses said, if Your PRESENCE will not go with us, then please do not let us go there... And the Lord said, "My PRESENCE will go with you, and I will give you REST." (Exodus 33: 14-15).God wants to bless us and give us peace and rest in this life, but we must learn how to dwell in His Presence, for that is where all our needs shall be met.About HOLY GHOST SCHOOLGod's End-time Programme for the Preparation and Perfection of the Bride of ChristThat He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy, and without blemish

Book excerpt: This book is a powerful expression of Jesus Christ given in the midst of the brokenness and hostilities of this world, as experienced by those who are marginalized and persecuted in contemporary society. Drawing on broader sources in the Christian tradition, Farley maintains the power of Jesus of Nazareth as the expression of the Divine Eros in Wisdom, to break powers of sin, and provide a vision of life, which is an alternative Empire to present ways and where love reigns as norm.

Book excerpt: "God is with us." We say this in our sermons, prayers, and songs, but what does it really mean? For many Christians, the whole notion of God's presence remains vague and hard to define. Exploring both the Old and New Testaments, professor J. Ryan Lister seeks to recover the centrality of the presence of God in the whole storyline of Scripture—a theme that is too often neglected and therefore misunderstood. In a world that longs for—yet struggles to find—intimacy with the Almighty, this book will help you discover the truth about God's presence with his people and what his drawing near means for the Christian life.

Whilst man has changed much since creation, God and His will still remain the same and His will is that man be blessed with abundance. Through the redemptive work of Christ, all that we lost in the Garden of Eden have been restored to us. However, out of ignorance we have failed to take advantage of all that Jesus did for us on the cross. This is where this book comes in, it unravels with clarity the many hidden dimensions of divine blessings which Christians are yet to explore and actively take possession of. This book will open your eyes to deep scriptural truths that will elevate you to the next phase of your spiritual development. It is the conduit through which God will flood your life with His divine blessing.

Book excerpt: How does the doctrine of sanctification shape the Christian life? Offering a fully developed treatment of "accomplished" sanctification, Don Payne explains that the primary biblical focus in sanctification is not progressive growth but that which has already occurred for Christians to make growth possible, necessary, and grace-driven. As Payne explores the significance Scripture attributes to the accomplished aspect of sanctification, he helps us understand that we are already sanctified. Sanctification is not synonymous with transformation but undergirds strategies and resources related to Christian discipleship and formation.

Book excerpt: After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to be more attentive to the Savior’s voice and listen for what He was saying to her. The result was Jesus Calling, a collection of personal reflections based on Jesus’ own words of hope, guidance, and peace found in the Scriptures. Through these messages, countless people have been encouraged to experience a deeper relationship with the Lord as they also learn to listen for His voice in the pages of the Bible. In Experiencing God’s Presence, the first study in the Jesus Calling Bible Study Series, you will be encouraged to lay down your cares and just spend time each day with your heavenly Father. As you follow the Lord’s instruction to “be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10), you will encounter His peace, be filled with His strength, gain a new perspective on your situation, and experience the full life that only He can provide. Each of the Jesus Calling Bible Studies include devotional readings from Jesus Calling, selected passages of Scripture for reflection, Bible Study questions, and additional questions and activities to help you apply and live out the material. This study can be used for personal reflection and Bible study or in a small-group setting.

Book excerpt: "I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things." Isaiah 45:7 When God created the world, he brought perfect order out of what was "without form and void." But with human rebellion against God leading to God's curse, disorder was introduced into creation—disorder that we still see all around us today. Tracing the chaos to cosmos theme from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22, pastor-scholar Sidney Greidanus reveals how God is restoring his creation through Jesus Christ, who has already begun to shine light into the darkness and will one day return to bring peace, order, and restoration once and for all. With discussion questions at the end of each chapter and a fourteen-session reading plan, this book is ideal for small groups as well as individual study.
