En los ?ltimos a?os la comunicaci?n audiovisual se ha basado en la explotaci?n tradicional de la radio y televisi?n anal?gica condicionada por la escasez de espectro radioel?ctrico y, por tanto, por una oferta p?blica y privada reducida y con un modelo de explotaci?n muy asentado pero comercialmente poco sostenible. La tecnolog?a digital viene a romper con este modelo y plantea un aumento exponencial de la se?ales de radio y televisi?n gracias a la capacidad de compresi?n de la se?al que se incrementa aumentando la calidad de la se?al audiovisual. Aumenta el acceso a los medios audiovisuales y se multiplican las audiencias, pero, por esta misma raz?n, se fragmentan. Irrumpe Internet como competidora de contenidos. Los modelos de negocio evolucionan y se desplazan. Como consecuencia de todo ello, la normativa tiene que evolucionar con los tiempos y debe adaptarse a los nuevos desarrollos tecnol?gicos. El libro incorpora de forma ?ntegra y actualizada la Ley General de la Comunicaci?n Audiovisual.
