Download or read book COMMENT DIEU VOIT LE MONDE written by Bertin Nana and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2007-08-08 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis LA LOI DE DIEU, LOI DE BONHEUR by : Paulette Leblanc
Download or read book LA LOI DE DIEU, LOI DE BONHEUR written by Paulette Leblanc and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2013-11-17 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Ezourvedam written by Ludo Rocher and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 1984 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ezourvedam, used by Voltaire among others, as sourcebook for the most ancient of religions, was thereupon found to have been a fraud. Actually it was composed by a Christian the text shows him to have been a French Jesuit missionary, who did not necessarily know Sanskrit in order to convert Hindus to Christianity. The controversy surrounding the spurious Veda continues, involving a number of scholars and missionaries particularly in the question of whether or not the Veda was composed in Sanskrit or French. In tracing the history of the Ezourvedam Ludo Rocher adds a number of points, one being that the text was definitely first written in French with a view to a later Sanskrit translation or, more likely, to one of several modern Indian vernaculars. This edition is based on the manuscripts of Voltaire and Anquetil du Perron, and, especially, on a third manuscript preserved at the Bibliotheque National in Paris, wrongly catalogued there as Yajurveda. This edition is therefor markedly different from the 1778 edition by the Baron de Sainte-Croix.
Book Synopsis The Complete Works of Oscar Wilde: +150 Works in 1 eBook by : Oscar Wilde

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This carefully crafted ebook is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents of the complete works of Oscar Wilde, containing more than 150 works. Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (1854 – 1900) was an Irish writer and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. Today he is remembered for his epigrams and plays, and the circumstances of his imprisonment which was followed by his early death. At the turn of the 1890s, he refined his ideas about the supremacy of art in a series of dialogues and essays, and incorporated themes of decadence, duplicity, and beauty into his only novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray (1890). The opportunity to construct aesthetic details precisely, and combine them with larger social themes, drew Wilde to write drama. He wrote Salome (1891) in French in Paris but it was refused a licence. Unperturbed, Wilde produced four society comedies in the early 1890s, which made him one of the most successful playwrights of late Victorian London. At the height of his fame and success, while his masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest (1895), was still on stage in London, Wilde had the Marquess of Queensberry, the father of his lover, Lord Alfred Douglas, prosecuted for libel, a charge carrying a penalty of up to two years in prison. The trial unearthed evidence that caused Wilde to drop his charges and led to his own arrest and trial for gross indecency with other men. After two more trials he was convicted and imprisoned for two years' hard labour. In 1897, in prison, he wrote De Profundis which was published in 1905, a long letter which discusses his spiritual journey through his trials, forming a dark counterpoint to his earlier philosophy of pleasure. Upon his release he left immediately for France, never to return to Ireland or Britain. There he wrote his last work, The Ballad of Reading Gaol (1898), a long poem commemorating the harsh rhythms of prison life. He died destitute in Paris at the age of forty-six. Content: The Plays: VERA, THE DUCHESS OF PADUA, LADY WINDERMERE’S FAN, A WOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE, SALOMÉ, SALOME (English Version), AN IDEAL HUSBAND, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Book Synopsis Negative Knowledge by : Sebastian Hüsch
Download or read book Negative Knowledge written by Sebastian Hüsch and published by Narr Francke Attempto Verlag. This book was released on 2020-08-10 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The advent of Modernity was accompanied by a radical criticism of traditional metaphysics. In particular since the 20th century, rationality is predominantly conceived of as positivistic and scientistic, reducing reality to what is positively knowable. The price to pay is the cutting out of any kind of phenomenon of negativity. The present volume explicitly explores the philosophical and epistemological potential of negativity. The contributions brought together in this book tackle the question of negativity from historical as well as from systematical perspectives. From different angles, they defend the claim that philosophical approaches recurring to negativity can build a non-reductive conceptualization of rationality, and thus offer a valuable contribution to the orientation of humankind in the 20th and 21st century. This volume contains contributions in English, French, and German.
