Ausgehend von den grundlegenden Informationen des türkischen Übersetzerlexikons, welches nach dem Muster des schwedischen Übersetzerlexikons Svenskt Översättarlexikon und des Germersheimer Übersetzerlexikons angelegt wurde, werden elf ÜbersetzerInnen vorgestellt, die ins Türkische oder aus dem Türkischen übersetzt haben. Eines der wichtigsten Anliegen dieses Projektes ist es, Übersetzung und ÜbersetzerInnen hervorzuheben, um somit deren Ansehen und Bedeutung in der Gesellschaft zu steigern. Wir hoffen, dass dieses Projekt für türkische, wie auch für LeserInnen aus aller Welt hilfreich ist - insbesondere für ÜbersetzungswissenschaftlerInnen. In Bezug auf dieses Anliegen nimmt die vorliegende Arbeit in der türkischen Wissenschaftslandschaft einen bedeutenden Stellenwert ein, da sie zum einen die erste ihrer Art ist und zum anderen zukünftigen Arbeiten als Muster dienen wird.
