Dabei werden mögliche Erklärungen für das Verhalten des neuen Geschäftsführers aufgezeigt und mögliche Auswirkungen auf die Mitarbeiter und das Unternehmen benannt. Im dritten Teil werden Handlungsempfehlungen als möglicher Transfer in die Praxis dargestellt und anhand der gewonnenen Erkenntnisse ausgesprochen.

Dies war der Themenschwerpunkt des Masterseminars „Angewandte Wirtschaftsethik“ an der HTW im Wintersemester 2016/17. Die Skandale bei VW und der Deutschen Bank zeigen die Bedeutung und Aktualität dieser Themenstellung, denn vielen Topmanagern scheint der Zusammenhang zwischen ethischem Verhalten und wirtschaftlichem Erfolg nicht bewusst zu sein. Die Beiträge befassen sich mit ganz unterschiedlichen Aspekten. Als erstes wurde die Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) untersucht. Hierbei handelt es sich um einen modernen und populären Ansatz einer gesellschaftlichen Unternehmensverantwortung. Untersucht werden in diesem Band, inwiefern CSR sich zur Erreichung ökonomischer und sozialer Ziele eignet. Des Weiteren befasst sich der Beitrag „Die Unternehmenskultur als strategischer Ansatz der Unternehmensführung“ mit verschiedenen Fragestellungen: Inwiefern kann eine Unternehmenskultur ethisches Verhalten im Unternehmen beeinflussen? Können den Mitarbeitern durch eine ethische Unternehmenskultur Werte vermittelt werden und werden sie zum ethischen Verhalten angeregt? Und umgekehrt, können sich Mitarbeiter im Unternehmen ethisch verhalten, wenn es eine unethische Unternehmenskultur gibt? Auch die Bedeutung der Managerethik für den langfristigen Unternehmenserfolg wird am Beispiel von VW thematisiert. Hier gilt es zu beleuchten, ob sich unethisches Verhalten für ein Unternehmen auszahlt und inwiefern die Führungskräfte für ihre Unternehmen ethische Verantwortung im Sinne einer CSR übernehmen müssen. In letzter Zeit werden die stark gestiegenen Managergehälter unter ethischen Gesichtspunkten in der Öffentlichkeit stark kritisiert. Der Beitrag „Vergütungssysteme von Mitarbeitern und Führungskräften, eine kritische Analyse und ethische Bewertung“ untersucht diese Entwicklung und versucht, Lösungsansätze für eine faire und motivierende Vergütung aufzuzeigen. Noch weitere Fragen gilt es zu beantworten: Wie soll Führung im Unternehmen stattfinden? Zahlt sich eine ethisch orientierte Führung aus oder führt dies bei den Mitarbeitern zu weniger Leistungsdruck und damit einer Leistungsverringerung? Kann eine ethische Führung die Produktivität steigern? Im Beitrag „Personalführungsansätze in Theorie und Praxis, eine ethische und erfolgsorientierte Analyse“ wird diesen nachgegangen. Die folgenden Beiträge beschäftigen sich schließlich im Besonderen mit der Auswahl ethischen Personals durch interne Beförderungen und externe Maßnahmen.
