Jahrhundert wachsen in einer Lebenswelt auf, welche "intensiv mit technischen Geräten und Medien ausgestattet ist" (Hurrelmann, Klaus 2002: 254). Täglich werden sie mit den verschiedensten Formen von Massenmedien, wie zum Beispiel dem Computer oder dem Fernseher, konfrontiert, so dass es nicht verwunderlich ist, dass Medien im Sozialisations-, Erziehungs- und Bildungsprozess junger Menschen eine immer bedeutendere Rolle spielen. Die Integration der Neuen Medien in den Schulalltag bietet jedoch einige Probleme, da viele Lehrer in ihrer Ausbildung nicht auf einen mediengestützten Unterricht vorbereitet werden. So hat die Medienpädagogik derzeit in Lehramtsstudiengängen einen nur geringen Stellenwert, mit durchschnittlich weit weniger als zwei Semesterwochenstunden (vgl. Blömeke, Sigrid 2000: 14 ff.). Dieter Baacke beschreibt die medienpädagogische Situation an deutschen Hochschulen wie folgt: " Lehrer werden auf diese Weise nicht befähigt, mit Kindern und Jugendlichen im Unterricht angemessen umzugehen, die als 'Medienkinder‛ und 'Medienjugendliche‛ aufwachsen" (Baacke, Dieter 1995: 3). Die daraus resultierenden Forderungen an die Lehrerausbildung sind beispielsweise ein umfangreicheres Angebot an medienpädagogischen Veranstaltungen oder sogar ein informationstechnischer Pflichtbereich. So lässt sich zusammenfassen, dass die Medienkompetenz und die Medienpädagogik systematisch in die Ausbildung von Lehrern integriert werden müssen. In der nun folgenden Arbeit soll die Rolle und die Bedeutung der Medienkompetenz im Bezug auf das gesamte Kompetenzprofil eines Lehrers näher beleuchtet und die damit entstehenden Auswirkungen auf die Lehramtsausbildung näher betracht

Anhand der Möglichkeiten digitaler Medien im Lernprozess soll dann im weiteren Verlauf der Bachelorarbeit analysiert werden, warum es wichtig ist, dass Digital Immigrants eine Medienkompetenz erwerben. Dazu werden in Kapitel drei die Begriffe Medienbildung und Medienkompetenz nach Baacke unterschieden. Dabei umfasst der Medienkom-petenzbegriff nach Baacke die vier Komponenten Medienkritik, Medienkunde, Mediennutzung und Mediengestaltung. In Kapitel vier wird auf die Mediensozialisation der Generationen Digital Immigrants und Digital Natives Bezug genommen. Dazu wird erläutert, welches Medienverhalten, einhergehend mit einer Medienkompetenz, jeweils vorliegt und wo Kompetenzunterschiede auszumachen sind. Im anschließenden fünften Kapitel wird die momentane Situation von digitalen Medien in der Lehramtsausbildung beschrieben, sowie auf die veränderte Lehrerrolle für die mediale Bildung von Schülern eingegangen. Ebenso werden Möglichkeiten des Kompetenzerwerbs von Digital Immigrants erörtert. Anschließend werden in Kapitel sechs die Risiken von digitalen Medien im Lernprozess bei nicht ausreichender Medienkompetenz erläutert. In diesem Zusammenhang geht es um die Gefahren für Schüler, die sich mit der inkompetenten Nutzung des Web 2 0 ergeben. Dazu zählen z.B. das noch nicht anerkannte Krankheitsbild Internet Addiction Disorder und das Cybermobbing. Im Rahmen des Lernprozesses kann das Risiko des Digital Divide auftreten. Bevor die Bachelorarbeit mit dem Fazit endet, wird im siebten Kapitel die Forschungsfrage beantwortet und zusammenfassend dargestellt, wie die Medienkompetenz von Lehrern auf die mediale Bildung von Jugendlichen Einfluss nehmen kann.

Unless these trends are reversed, the authors predict, the U.S. economy will face sharp decline.Summarizing a large amount of troubling data, the authors show that manufacturing has declined from 40 percent of GDP to under 10 percent in thirty years. Since consumption drives the American economy and since manufactured goods comprise the largest share of consumer purchases, clearly we will not be able to sustain the accumulating trade deficits.Rather than blame individuals, such as Greenspan or Bernanke, the authors focus on larger forces. Repairing the breach in our economy will require limits on free trade and the free international movement of capital; policies aimed at improving education, research, and infrastructure; reindustrialization; and the taxation of higher incomes.

To be successful, e-learning must offer effective and attractive courses and programmes to learners, while at the same time providing a pleasant and effective work environment for staff members who have the task to develop course materials, plan the learning processes, provide tutoring, and assess performance. To overcome these deficiencies, the IMS Global Learning Consortium Inc. released the Learning Design Specification in 2003. With Learning Design it is possible to develop and present advanced, interoperable e-learning courses embracing educational role and game playing methods, problem-based learning, learning community approaches, adaptivity and peer coaching and assessment methods. In this handbook Koper and Tattersall have put together contributions from members of the "Valkenburg Group", consisting of 33 experts deeply involved in e-learning and more specifically learning design. The result is a rich and lasting source of information for both e-learning course and tool developers, providing information about the specification itself, how to implement it in practice, what tools to use, and what pitfalls to avoid. The book not only reports first experiences, but also goes beyond the current state of the art by looking at future prospects and emerging applications.
