This book was released on 2003 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Religious Freedom by : Gerhard Besier
Download or read book Religious Freedom written by Gerhard Besier and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2019-05 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Restrictions with respect to religious freedom have been in place in authoritarian states for a number of years. We can observe a new period of co-operation between authoritarian states and "state" churches. Some churches have assumed a clearly political position, even in belligerent conflicts, by justifying wars, criminalizing their religious competitors and, thereby, exploiting the Christian Gospel for non-Christian purposes. In this volume, scholars from Europe and North America discuss the core objective of religious freedom in the West and East seeking measures to encourage religions to act and interact, independent of deliberate political stances - to maintain their distance from territorial governments and to strengthen the principle of religious freedom and, thereby, their own denomination as well.
Book Synopsis Religiöse Minderheiten in westlichen Gesellschaften. Religious Minorities in Western Societies. 17. Jahrgang (2016), Heft 1-2 by : Gerhard Besier
Download or read book Religiöse Minderheiten in westlichen Gesellschaften. Religious Minorities in Western Societies. 17. Jahrgang (2016), Heft 1-2 written by Gerhard Besier and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2017-06 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. In view of the fact that people are preoccupied with serious crises across many parts of the world, the problems facing religious minorities in the West are increasingly in danger of being pushed into the background. This is all the more true in places such as democratic constitutional states where religious freedom is guaranteed in the constitution. This issue would like to contribute to the discussion of specific problems for small religious communities in Belgium and Germany.

Book Synopsis Limitations of religious freedom by privileged state religions (ecclesiae) - particularly in authoritarian states but also in democracies by : Gerhard Besier
Download or read book Limitations of religious freedom by privileged state religions (ecclesiae) - particularly in authoritarian states but also in democracies written by Gerhard Besier and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2020 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The volume deals with the topic of Religious Freedom in Europe and North America, although not exclusively. The contributions argue that a clear separation of State and Church prevents privileged religions, as well as evangelical movements supported by state interests, from becoming power-political factors that seek to mould a society according to their own values and to their benefit. All too often, politicians are happy to accept ideological support on behalf of a religious community or a religious grouping, and then seek to further the interests and to promote these groups. Even though the two countries demonstrate differences such constellations may be identified in both the USA and in Russia.

This book was released on 2011 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Synopsis Religion and Politics in the United States and Germany by : Dagmar Pruin
Download or read book Religion and Politics in the United States and Germany written by Dagmar Pruin and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2007 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Current interest in the relation of religion and politics is intense in both the US and Germany. Yet observers are regularly struck by fundamental divergences between approaches to and conceptualisations of this field on either side of the Atlantic. This volume, containing contributions by German and US authors from various disciplinary backgrounds, seeks to offer some clarification by elucidating traditional and newly emerging differences between, but also common challenges to, these societies in issues such as pluralism of values, religious education, the role of religious minorities, the relation of religion and elite formation, and religious aspects of voting patterns.
Book Synopsis Communicative Freedom by : Willem Fourie
Download or read book Communicative Freedom written by Willem Fourie and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2012 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Freedom is modernity's most important promise, but also its most controversial promise. No other concept has led to so many expectations, disappointments, changes, and destruction. This book examines German theologian and ethicist Wolfgang Huber's concept of "communicative freedom," which is proposed as a contribution to the debate on freedom within modernity. It is argued that communicative freedom integrates radically different understandings of freedom into one comprehensive concept. This concept allows for a constructive and critical affirmation of modernity. (Series: Theology in the Public Square/Theologie in der Offentlichkeit - Vol. 3)
