Book excerpt: LA CONCEPTION D'UN CIRCUIT INTEGRE ANALOGIQUE, PAR SON MANQUE D'AUTOMATISATION, EST DEVENUE UN ELEMENT CRITIQUE DU TEMPS, ET DONC DU COUT, DE DEVELOPPEMENT D'UN SYSTEME ELECTRONIQUE MIXTE. NOUS NOUS SOMMES APPLIQUES A REALISER UN OUTIL AUTOMATISANT LA SYNTHESE DE CIRCUITS ANALOGIQUES. IL DELIVRE LE SCHEMA A TRANSISTORS DIMENSIONNES DE BLOCS FONCTIONNELS ANALOGIQUES, LES PERFORMANCES REALISEES PAR CETTE STRUCTURE REPONDANT A DES SPECIFICATIONS INTRODUITES PAR L'UTILISATEUR. EN CALQUANT L'APPROCHE EMPLOYEE PAR LES CONCEPTEURS ANALOGIQUES, NOUS DECOMPOSONS LA STRUCTURE D'UN CIRCUIT SUR DIFFERENTS NIVEAUX D'ABSTRACTION. UN CIRCUIT, OU UN BLOC, EST REALISE PAR UNE TOPOLOGIE, ARCHITECTURE OU SCHEMA ELECTRIQUE, FORMEE D'UNE ASSOCIATION DE SOUS-BLOCS, DE PLUS FAIBLE COMPLEXITE, OU DE COMPOSANTS. CHAQUE SOUS-BLOC EST, A SON TOUR, REALISE PAR UNE TOPOLOGIE. CETTE APPROCHE HIERARCHIQUE, PERMET A L'OUTIL DE SYNTHETISER DES FONCTIONS COMPLEXES, PRESENTES DANS DES ARCHITECTURES DE SYSTEMES, AINSI QUE DES BLOCS DE PLUS BAS NIVEAU, TEL QUE L'AMPLIFICATEUR OPERATIONNEL. NOUS AVONS DEVELOPPE, EN LANGAGE OBJET C++, LES PRIMITIVES D'UNE DESCRIPTION HOMOGENE DE LA STRUCTURE HIERARCHISEE D'UN CIRCUIT AINSI QUE DES OPERATEURS ARITHMETIQUES DEDIES AUX NOMBRES INTERVALLES. LES COMPOSANTS, LES BLOCS FONCTIONNELS ET LES STRUCTURES UTILISES PAR LE PROGRAMME SONT DECRITES AVEC SES PRIMITIVES. LA SELECTION ET LE DIMENSIONNEMENT D'UNE STRUCTURE SONT REALISES A TRAVERS L'EVALUATION, AVEC UNE ARITHMETIQUE DES INTERVALLES, D'EQUATIONS ANALYTIQUES, NON LINEAIRES, PRESENTES DANS CES DESCRIPTIONS. L'ANALYSE PAR INTERVALLES PERMET DE FAIRE PROGRESSER LA SYNTHESE D'UN CIRCUIT SANS QUE LE DETAIL DE SA REALISATION NE SOIT DEFINI. L'UTILISATION D'EQUATIONS NON LINEAIRES PERMET DE MODELISER PRECISEMENT LES INTERACTIONS DES SOUS BLOCS OU COMPOSANTS, DEFINISSANT LE COMPORTEMENT D'UNE STRUCTURE. ON A INTRODUIT LES RESSOURCES SUIVANTES DANS LA BASE DE CONAISSANCES DU PROGRAMME : DES COMPOSANTS ACTIFS ET PASSIFS, DES SCHEMAS A TRANSISTORS ET UNE ARCHITECTURE UTILISES POUR REALISER UN AMPLIFICATEUR OPERATIONNEL. UN MONTAGE INVERSEUR, STRUCTURE D'UN FILTRE DU PREMIER ORDRE, EST AUSSI PRESENT. DES SIMULATIONS ELECTRIQUES DES CIRCUITS SYNTHETISES PAR L'OUTIL ONT PERMIS DE VALIDER LE TRAVAIL REALISE.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Buyology written by Martin Lindstrom and published by Currency. This book was released on 2010-02-02 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “A fascinating look at how consumers perceive logos, ads, commercials, brands, and products.”—Time How much do we know about why we buy? What truly influences our decisions in today’s message-cluttered world? In Buyology, Martin Lindstrom presents the astonishing findings from his groundbreaking three-year, seven-million-dollar neuromarketing study—a cutting-edge experiment that peered inside the brains of 2,000 volunteers from all around the world as they encountered various ads, logos, commercials, brands, and products. His startling results shatter much of what we have long believed about what captures our interest—and drives us to buy. Among the questions he explores: • Does sex actually sell? • Does subliminal advertising still surround us? • Can “cool” brands trigger our mating instincts? • Can our other senses—smell, touch, and sound—be aroused when we see a product? Buyology is a fascinating and shocking journey into the mind of today's consumer that will captivate anyone who's been seduced—or turned off—by marketers' relentless attempts to win our loyalty, our money, and our minds.
Book Synopsis Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations by : Sandip Mazumder
Download or read book Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations written by Sandip Mazumder and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2015-12-01 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations: Finite Difference and Finite Volume Methods focuses on two popular deterministic methods for solving partial differential equations (PDEs), namely finite difference and finite volume methods. The solution of PDEs can be very challenging, depending on the type of equation, the number of independent variables, the boundary, and initial conditions, and other factors. These two methods have been traditionally used to solve problems involving fluid flow. For practical reasons, the finite element method, used more often for solving problems in solid mechanics, and covered extensively in various other texts, has been excluded. The book is intended for beginning graduate students and early career professionals, although advanced undergraduate students may find it equally useful. The material is meant to serve as a prerequisite for students who might go on to take additional courses in computational mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, or computational electromagnetics. The notations, language, and technical jargon used in the book can be easily understood by scientists and engineers who may not have had graduate-level applied mathematics or computer science courses. Presents one of the few available resources that comprehensively describes and demonstrates the finite volume method for unstructured mesh used frequently by practicing code developers in industry Includes step-by-step algorithms and code snippets in each chapter that enables the reader to make the transition from equations on the page to working codes Includes 51 worked out examples that comprehensively demonstrate important mathematical steps, algorithms, and coding practices required to numerically solve PDEs, as well as how to interpret the results from both physical and mathematic perspectives

Download or read book Symmetry written by Hermann Weyl and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2015-07-06 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Symmetry is a classic study of symmetry in mathematics, the sciences, nature, and art from one of the twentieth century's greatest mathematicians. Hermann Weyl explores the concept of symmetry beginning with the idea that it represents a harmony of proportions, and gradually departs to examine its more abstract varieties and manifestations—as bilateral, translatory, rotational, ornamental, and crystallographic. Weyl investigates the general abstract mathematical idea underlying all these special forms, using a wealth of illustrations as support. Symmetry is a work of seminal relevance that explores the great variety of applications and importance of symmetry.
Book Synopsis The Production and Distribution of Knowledge in the United States by : Fritz Machlup
Download or read book The Production and Distribution of Knowledge in the United States written by Fritz Machlup and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 1962 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Production and Distribution of Knowledge in the United States marked the beginning of the study of our postindustrial information society. Austrian-born economist Fritz Machlup had focused his research on the patent system, but he came to realize that patents were simply one part of a much bigger "knowledge economy." He then expanded the scope of his work to evaluate everything from stationery and typewriters to advertising to presidential addresses--anything that involved the activity of telling anyone anything. The Production and Distribution of Knowledge in the United States then revealed the new and startling shape of the U.S. economy. Machlup's cool appraisal of the data showed that the knowledge industry accounted for nearly 29 percent of the U.S. gross national product, and that 43 percent of the civilian labor force consisted of knowledge transmitters or full-time knowledge receivers. Indeed, the proportion of the labor force involved in the knowledge economy increased from 11 to 32 percent between 1900 and 1959--a monumental shift. Beyond documenting this revolution, Machlup founded the wholly new field of information economics. The transformation to a knowledge economy has resonated throughout the rest of the century, especially with the rise of the Internet. As two recent observers noted, "Information goods--from movies and music to software code and stock quotes--have supplanted industrial goods as the key drivers of world markets." Continued study of this change and its effects is testament to Fritz Machlup's pioneering work.
Book Synopsis Information and Information Systems by : Michael Buckland
Download or read book Information and Information Systems written by Michael Buckland and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 1991-05-30 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Michael Buckland offers an examination of information systems that is comparative rather than narrowly technical in approach. With careful attention to different meanings of information, Buckland examines the nature of retrieval-based information systems such as archives, databases, libraries, and museums, and their relationships to their social context. The introductory material examines difficulties of definition and terminology in relation to information systems. There is a systematic overview of the concepts and processes involved in the provision and use of information systems. Buckland's attention to unusual examples, to how different aspects interact with each other, and to how information systems are influenced by their contents and their context yields interesting insights and conclusions which force reconsideration of common assumptions in information science. This volume, with its subject index and bibliography, provides for students and professionals a valuable and readable introduction to this rapidly expanding field.

Book excerpt: This collective project by Erik Bordeleau, Toni Pape, Ronald Rose-Antoinette and Adam Szymanski is not simply 'about' Apichatpong Weerasethakul, though it does engage his work in detail. It is a book that deeply questions what else might be at stake in setting up the conditions for collaboration across two genres - cinema and writing.
Book Synopsis Translation, Linguistics, Culture by : Nigel Armstrong
Download or read book Translation, Linguistics, Culture written by Nigel Armstrong and published by Multilingual Matters. This book was released on 2005-01-01 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book takes a linguistic approach to translation issues, looking first at the structural view of language that explains the difficulty of translation and at theories of cultural non-equivalence. A subsequent chapter on text types, readership and the translator's role completes the theoretical framework. The linguistic levels of analysis are then discussed in ascending order, from morpheme up to sentence, while a summarising chapter considers various translation types and strategies, again considered in relation to text type, author and reader.
