Download or read book Designing and Developing an Advanced Instructional Design Advisor written by J. Michael Spector and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a general description of an automated and intelligent tool to assist courseware authors in instructional design and development. The problem addressed by this research is the difficulty and expense of designing and developing effective courseware given the complexities of advanced hardware and software technologies, the variety of instructional settings, and the relative inexperience of Air Force training specialists in instructional design. Many automated tools to support the instructional process are being developed. However, no existing system attempts to provide general guidance for effective courseware design and development. The Advanced Instructional Design Advisor (AIDA) is currently being designed and developed by AFHRL/IDC to explore the feasibility of providing automated and intelligent assistance to Air Force training specialists involved in courseware development.

Book Synopsis Functional Requirements of an Advanced Instructional Design Advisor: Epitomizing Functions by :
Download or read book Functional Requirements of an Advanced Instructional Design Advisor: Epitomizing Functions written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Advanced Instructional Design Advisor (AIDA) will provide automated and intelligent assistance to inexperienced computer-based instruction developers. This report outlines initial development of a prototype or XAIDA as opposed to development of a complete automated Instructional System Design (ISD) expert system. One of the difficulties in automating-instructional design is with the proper application of ISD. The first part of this paper offers a detailed description of a potential ISD model for XAIDA in which three basic forms of knowledge, declarative, procedural, and contextual, are directly tied to instructional strategies. The final section of the paper specifies conditions for the development of XAIDA. 'epitomizes' XAIDA by presenting general 'simplifying conditions' to restrict such things as task, time to teach, learning level, medium, environment, and instructional strategy. The final portion of this paper applies these general conditions to a specific task by outlining the development of a lesson for the T-38 engine starting system.

Members of the organizing committee included Dr. Klaus Breuer from disce and the University ofPaderbom (Germany), Dr. Begofia Gros from the University of Barcelona, and Dr. Daniel Muraida and Dr. Michael Spector from the Armstrong Laboratory (USA). Dr. Gros participated as the co-director of the workshop and was directly responsible for the preparation and operation of the workshop in Sitges, Spain. The workshop was held in Sitges, a short distance from Barcelona, March 23-27, 1992. Because of preparations at that time for the 1992 summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, the workshop was moved to a more convenient location. The theme of the workshop included three main topics: planning, production, and implementation. Dr. Peter Goodyear, from the Lancaster University (England), presented the invited keynote address. During the four day workshop, 14 papers were presented and discussed. Following each of the three topic areas, Drs. Gros and Breuer led discussions critiquing the ideas presented.
Book Synopsis Instructional Design: International Perspectives II by : Sanne Dijkstra
Download or read book Instructional Design: International Perspectives II written by Sanne Dijkstra and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-12-16 with total page 437 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Instructional design theory and practice has evolved over the past 30 years from an initial narrow focus on programmed instruction to a multidimensional field of study integrating psychology, technology, evaluation, measurement, and management. The growth of instructional design (ID) has occurred because of direct needs, problems, and goals from society. Its application in planning instruction first developed in the United States with the Department of Defense during World War II with the purpose of meeting immediate concerns for effective training of larger numbers of military personnel. From the beginning, ID has rapidly expanded into applications in industrial and executive training, vocational training, classroom learning, and professional education. Although ID has its roots in the U.S., applications and theoretical growth is an international activity. However, literature at the international level is still limited to either individual author contributions or collections primarily represented by single countries. As a result, there is no standard reference source that contains the rich variety of theories and applications to form the international foundation for the field. The goal of this two-volume set is to establish international foundations for ID theory, research, and practice within the framework of the two following objectives: * to identify and define the theoretical, research, and model foundations for ID, and * to bridge the gap between ID foundations and application. Volume I includes chapters on philosophical and theoretical issues on learning theory and ID models. Volume II provides an overview of the state of the art of solving ID problems. The contributors offer contrasting points of view which provide a rare opportunity to see the diversity and complexity in the field. The editorial committee has selected a wide range of internationally known authors to make presentations in the topic areas of the field.

Book Synopsis Instructional Design for Learning by : Norbert M. Seel
Download or read book Instructional Design for Learning written by Norbert M. Seel and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-04-17 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook on Instructional Design for Learning is a must for all education and teaching students and specialists. It provides a comprehensive overview about the theoretical foundations of the various models of Instructional Design and Technology from its very beginning to the most recent approaches. It elaborates Instructional Design (ID) as a science of educational planning. The book expands on this general understanding of ID and presents an up-to-date perspective on the theories and models for the creation of detailed and precise blueprints for effective instruction. It integrates different theoretical aspects and practical approaches, such as conceptual ID models, technology-based ID, and research-based ID. In doing so, this book takes a multi-perspective view on the questions that are central for professional ID: How to analyze the relevant characteristics of the learner and the environment? How to create precise goals and adequate instruments of assessment? How to design classroom and technology-supported learning environments? How to ensure effective teaching and learning by employing formative and summative evaluation? Furthermore, this book presents empirical findings on the processes that enable effective instructional designing. Finally, this book demonstrates two different fields of application by addressing ID for teaching and learning at secondary schools and colleges, as well as for higher education.
