Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Buried deep beneath the caverns of my heart, flows the river of pain! Making its way beyond the spiritual nexus. Hiding my midnight Sorrows in the dead of the night. Have you ever felt pain that eradicates all feelings? A numbness that erodes what little Is left of peace. The pressure to overcome...Slowly I break!! Surely this is fate. Walking in the void of limbo asking demons to dry my tears. Enter if you dare into my world of Demons of the Psyche: Poetic Damnation. Demons of the Psyche: Poetic Damnation is written in the form of a verse novel. Each poem is carefully crafted and interwoven into the next. the stories will leave you breathless, they will also leave you with questions. Who knows they might even give you answers. Chapter one: "The Wounded, caged" (Snippet) Cleansing. What sanitizes The hurt and pain? The guilt ridden Phosphorous in our bones? What calls to order the shape of a man's morality and with the quickening sound of mortal's gavel brings order to chaos? What is the point of blooming today simply to die tomorrow? The fragility of the human species is like no other! For we are first made fragile by the thoughts that soak or minds. Telling us we are not enough. Telling us we are weak. Letting us know that no matter what we accomplish, we will never truly become. We will never truly be fulfilled. The longing, for flesh. Excites me. Over a dozen men and women have fell by my blade. You want to know the difference between a human and a chicken? It's the acquired taste. Chicken is a staple in our diet. Human meat, cooked at the right temperature and seasoned precisely to perfection, sends my taste buds into overdrive. Yes, of course I did it! I'm here talking to you, aren't I? Trapped like dog! Tell me something... why does the caged bird sing? Because it knows it can ha! Ha! But! This caged bird will soon fly away! You're all fools to think you can keep me here. And to think, I thought you all had me figured out. I'm always, ten steps ahead of the game. This is chess not checkers. You all rely too much on fate. As for me, I'm a man of faith. I pray to God that blessings will flow like a rushing bloody river...

Book excerpt: "As I read Diagnosing Demons, it became more and more clear that the enemy has used our minds against us from the beginning. Satan wants us to be locked inside a prison of hat we perceive to be our own thoughts, rendering us helpless. Antonio addresses this in an eye-opening way and gives us tools for how to address these things and ultimately defeat the enemy with the blood of Jesus and the victory He purchased for us on the cross." -Jeff Smith, Associate Pastor, Trinity Life, Hereford, Texas "Everyone who works with people needs to have this book!" -Pastor Johnny Thompson, The Sanctuary, Costa Mesa, California What does God think about Mental Health? If I take psyche medications, does it mean I have no faith? What do you think of when someone says mental illness? How do you define and approach spiritual warfare? Does someone come to mind? Does your mind recall an experience or encounter with someone who suffers from mental illness? We will dissect all these questions in this book. We will talk about Christ and how He would be diagnosed by well-known psychiatrists in the mental health field. We will talk about case studies and how faith and medicine combine to create hope for the hopeless. This is an introduction to both mental health and spiritual warfare.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Descriptions of monsters, vampires, demonic possessions, and psychopaths in horror films have been inspired by psychiatric knowledge about mental illness, leading to several stereotyped models of horror that have prevailed through decades. Some scholars have proposed that horror films can be a teaching tool for psychopathology, but for the most part the genre has been underutilized as a learning tool. This book explores the idea of relating horror films to psychiatric ideas as a way of engaging people in learning.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Demonic Desires, Ishay Rosen-Zvi examines the concept of yetzer hara, or evil inclination, and its evolution in biblical and rabbinic literature. Contrary to existing scholarship, which reads the term under the rubric of destructive sexual desire, Rosen-Zvi contends that in late antiquity the yetzer represents a general tendency toward evil. Rather than the lower bodily part of a human, the rabbinic yetzer is a wicked, sophisticated inciter, attempting to snare humans to sin. The rabbinic yetzer should therefore not be read in the tradition of the Hellenistic quest for control over the lower parts of the psyche, writes Rosen-Zvi, but rather in the tradition of ancient Jewish and Christian demonology. Rosen-Zvi conducts a systematic and comprehensive analysis of the some one hundred and fifty appearances of the evil yetzer in classical rabbinic literature to explore the biblical and postbiblical search for the sources of human sinfulness. By examining the yetzer within a specific demonological tradition, Demonic Desires places the yetzer discourse in the larger context of a move toward psychologization in late antiquity, in which evil—and even demons—became internalized within the human psyche. The book discusses various manifestations of this move in patristic and monastic material, from Clement and Origin to Antony, Athanasius, and Evagrius. It concludes with a consideration of the broader implications of the yetzer discourse in rabbinic anthropology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A spirit runs through the interdisciplinary essays of this book--a spirit that lives within them and hovers above them, at once intelligent and profoundly simple. Although each essay focuses on a certain topic, whether it is the Buddhist saint Milarepa, the prophet Jeremiah, or the Christian saint Teresa of Avila, whether it is the Israeli/Palestinian conflict or subtleties of the spirit, these essays have penetrable borders that dissolve at the seams, and touch each other religiously, philosophically, and psychologically. The use of an interdisciplinary methodology that draws from the wisdom of different disciplines in regard to values, such as courage in the face of attacks and integrity in the midst of a worldly environment, culminates in a rich source of inspired guidance for everyday life.

Renowned Buddhist leader Tsultrim Allione explains that the harder we fight our demons, the stronger they become. Offering Eastern answers to Western needs, Tsultrim seamlessly weaves traditions from Tibet and the Western world to offer a new and unique answer to the problems that plague us: that rather than attempt to purge them, we need to reverse our approach and nurture our demons. This powerful five-step practice forms a strategy for transforming negative emotions, relationships, fears, illness and self-defeating patterns. This will help you cope with the inner enemies that undermine our best intentions.

Book excerpt: Psychopaths are not human. Psychopaths will leave effusive and flattering comments on your social network page after you friend them. They will text you numerous times a day and call you on the phone just to hear your voice before they sleep. They continually quiz you about your sexual fantasies then enthusiastically promise to fulfil them all on the day you physically meet. Steadily and by degrees they build a comprehensive profile of you in order to create a blueprint for constructing a mirror-perfect soulmate persona and then, they claim you. They claim your heart, your energy, creativity, happiness, peace, sanity, strength and in some cases, all or most of your worldly goods. Then they begin to destroy you. Eternally hungry, forever empty, they never stop seeking the one thing that makes you human and the one thing they will always lack: your soul.

What emerged was a prophetic and ferociously funny masterpiece of ideology and murder in pre-revolutionary Russia.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a psychological exploration of unusual minds, a religious exploration of demonological myth, and a philosophical exploration of the reaches of pragmatism. It uses topics such as hypnotism, mediumship, and mass possession to argue for a comprehensive understanding of the demonic that acknowledges not only the creativity which it encourages, but also the danger it can bring. Professor Ruetenik uses James’ religious pragmatism to evaluate the relevance of psychical research, and to explain common beliefs regarding demons, spirits, and other controlling personalities. The conclusion of this interdisciplinary research is as alarming as it is fascinating: When exploring the demons of William James, we discover that ordinary personality cannot be clearly separated from what we consider the demonic.
