Book Synopsis Modeling, Programming and Simulations Using LabVIEWTM Software by : Riccardo de Asmundis
Download or read book Modeling, Programming and Simulations Using LabVIEWTM Software written by Riccardo de Asmundis and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2011-01-21 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born originally as a software for instrumentation control, LabVIEW became quickly a very powerful programming language, having some peculiar characteristics which made it unique: the simplicity in creating very effective Users Interfaces and the G programming mode. While the former allows designing very professional controls panels and whole Applications, completed with features for distributing and installing them, the latter represents an innovative and enthusiastic way of programming: the Graphical representation of the code. The surprising aspect is that such a way of conceiving algorithms is absolutely similar to the SADT method (Structured Analysis and Design Technique) introduced by Douglas T. Ross and SofTech, Inc. (USA) in 1969 from an original idea of MIT, and extensively used by US Air Force for their projects. LabVIEW practically allows programming by implementing straightly the equivalent of an SADT "actigram". Beside this academical aspect, LabVIEW can be used in a variety of forms, creating projects that can spread over an enormous field of applications: from control and monitor software to data treatment and archiving; from modeling to instruments controls; from real time programming to advanced analysis tools with very powerful mathematical algorithms ready to use; from full integration with native hardware (by National Instruments) to an easy implementation of drivers for third party hardware. In this book a collection of different applications which cover a wide range of possibilities is presented. We go from simple or distributed control software to modeling done in LabVIEW; from very specific applications to usage in the educational environment.

Book Synopsis Simplified Digital Automation with Microprocessors by : James Arnold
Download or read book Simplified Digital Automation with Microprocessors written by James Arnold and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1979-01-01 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Simplified Digital Automation with Microprocessors explores the utilization of simple digital circuits as building blocks in structures to create very powerful systems through the programmable operation of the microprocessor. This 10-chapter introductory book focuses on a class of automated processes with predictable results and is consequent to the specific design of the systems. The introductory chapters deal with the management of information and processes, from familiar decimal arithmetic to less familiar arithmetic of binary numbers. This topic is followed by discussions on the use of electrical and electronic mechanization of systems and the selection and classification of the most frequently used circuits. Considerable chapters are devoted to other parts of the operating systems, such as the arithmetic logic unit, microprocessors, interface devices, and auxiliary circuits. The concluding chapter provides an exercise in the design of a complete digitally automated system with specific function and structure. This text outlines the steps in the design process. This text will be useful to readers who are not already familiar with computer technology.

Book Synopsis Advanced Digital Signal Processing of Seismic Data by : Wail A. Mousa
Download or read book Advanced Digital Signal Processing of Seismic Data written by Wail A. Mousa and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2020-01-16 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seismic data must be interpreted using digital signal processing techniques in order to create accurate representations of petroleum reservoirs and the interior structure of the Earth. This book provides an advanced overview of digital signal processing (DSP) and its applications to exploration seismology using real-world examples. The book begins by introducing seismic theory, describing how to identify seismic events in terms of signals and noise, and how to convert seismic data into the language of DSP. Deterministic DSP is then covered, together with non-conventional sampling techniques. The final part covers statistical seismic signal processing via Wiener optimum filtering, deconvolution, linear-prediction filtering and seismic wavelet processing. With over sixty end-of-chapter exercises, seismic data sets and data processing MATLAB codes included, this is an ideal resource for electrical engineering students unfamiliar with seismic data, and for Earth Scientists and petroleum professionals interested in DSP techniques.

Book Synopsis Introductory Digital Signal Processing with Computer Applications by : Paul A. Lynn
Download or read book Introductory Digital Signal Processing with Computer Applications written by Paul A. Lynn and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1998-06-11 with total page 495 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "An excellent introductory book" (Review of the First Edition in the International Journal of Electrical Engineering Education) " it will serve as a reference book in this area for a long time" (Review of Revised Edition in Zentralblatt für Mathematik (Germany)) Firmly established as the essential introductory Digital Signal Processing (DSP) text, this second edition reflects the growing importance of random digital signals and random DSP in the undergraduate syllabus by including two new chapters. The authors' practical, problem-solving approach to DSP continues in this new material, which is backed up by additional worked examples and computer programs. The book now features: * fundamentals of digital signals and systems * time and frequency domain analysis and processing, including digital convolution and the Discrete and Fast Fourier Transforms * design and practical application of digital filters * description and processing of random signals, including correlation, filtering, and the detection of signals in noise Programs in C and equivalent PASCAL are listed in an Appendix. Typical results and graphic plots from all the programs are illustrated and discussed in the main text. The overall approach assumes no prior knowledge of electronics, computing, or DSP. An ideal text for undergraduate students in electrical, electronic and other branches of engineering, computer science, applied mathematics and physics. Practising engineers and scientists will also find this a highly accessible introduction to an increasingly important field.
