Book Synopsis The Business of Building and Managing a Healthcare Practice by : Neil Baum
Download or read book The Business of Building and Managing a Healthcare Practice written by Neil Baum and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-08-31 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building on the foundation of the previous edition, this book takes readers to the next level of management of medical practices for the 21st century. The road to becoming a physician is not an easy one to travel, nor does it become easier once a doctor completes his\her training. After a long and arduous training process, doctors embark on their professional journey, and there are major crossroads that are fraught with challenges, unknowns and risk. The transition to professional practice is daunting, and many physicians leave their training unprepared for the business of medicine. Even at the peak of their careers, sustaining a successful and profitable practice is not easy. Opening chapters revisit the basic business concepts that every physician needs to know, emphasizing the benefits that accrue to a physician who understands the basics of business, from accounting and contracts to managing people and personal finances. The next set of chapters offers a roadmap for doctors who are beginning a medical practice and will include new methods and procedures that have become available since the original edition, defining the various options for doctors’ employment such as solo practice, group practice and academic medicine. The final chapters emphasize strategies on how to build and grow a successful practice, including the use of technology and telemedicine, cybersecurity, marketing and much more. Unfortunately, not every doctor has the background, training and skills to manage a medical practice. The Business of Building and Managing a Healthcare Practice simplifies the process of business management and provides the practicing physician with knowledge to be able to enjoy the business component of his\her medical practice.
Download or read book The Planters written by J. Derald Morgan and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2016-07-19 with total page 720 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a genealogical history of the McKneely families of South Carolina, Georgia and Louisiana. There are two branches to this Scotch-Irish family with this unique spelling. One that migrated from South Carolina to Georgia and then on to Texas and other parts of the expanding United States of America. Then there is the branch that left South Carolina in the late 1700s and early 1800s with other families and settled in what at the time was West Florida. This area then was taken into the United States of America with the purchase of Florida from Spain and then became a part of Louisiana. The Louisiana branch resided in the Parishes called the Florida Parishes and stayed close to the area until after the First World War when the family began to migrate into other parts of the United States. You will find in this book two parts. One part covers the McKneely family that migrated to the Florida Parishes of Louisiana and the Second part that covers the McKneely family that first migrated to Georgia and then to Oklahoma and Texas. There is speculation but no proof that the two lines come from the common immigrant ancestor James McNealy with various spellings of McNealy. Look at the information and decide for yourself whether or not two lines could adopt a common spelling change, come from South Carolina and have common names and not be related to the common ancestor attached to the Louisiana McKneely clan. I have attempted to include as much detail as possible about each person. Personal stories are the spice of a genealogical work. I have included as many as possible and included them without edit. I am not a politically correct family historian. There may be some factually correct material that you may not like or that someone might tell you is not correct. Please read this account with the times and culture in mind as that is what makes the story a good one. Do not try to impress yourself on the story but put yourself into the times and places.

Book Synopsis Haunted Man's Report by : Robert Cochran
Download or read book Haunted Man's Report written by Robert Cochran and published by University of Arkansas Press. This book was released on 2024-04-30 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robert Cochran’s Haunted Man’s Report is a pioneering study of the novels and other writings of Arkansan Charles Portis (1933–2020), best known for the novel True Grit and its film adaptations. Hailed by one critic as “the author of classics on the order of a twentieth-century Mark Twain” and as America’s “least-known great novelist,” Portis has garnered a devoted fan base with his ear for language, picaresque characters, literary Easter eggs, and talent for injecting comedy into even the smallest turn of phrase. As a former Marine who served on the front lines of the Korean War and as a journalist who observed firsthand the violent resistance to the civil rights movement, Portis reported on atrocities that came to inform his fiction profoundly. His novels take aim at colonialism and notions of American exceptionalism, focusing on ordinary people, often vets, searching for safe havens in a fallen world. Haunted Man’s Report, a deeply insightful literary exploration of Portis’s singular and underexamined oeuvre, celebrates this novelist’s great achievement and is certain to prove a valuable guide for readers new to Portis as well as aficionados.
