Los presentes Comentarios tienen como objetivo contribuir a una aplicación razonable de la Ley, tras sus sucesivas reformas. Sus autores, profesores de Derecho Penal en la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, realizan en la obra una extensa exégesis de cada uno de los preceptos, aderezada con concordancias legales, abundantes citas doctrinales a pie de página y múltiples referencias a las resoluciones judiciales emanadas de los Tribunales Constitucional y Supremo (cuando existen) y, fundamentalmente, de los Juzgados de Menores y de las Audiencias Provinciales al resolver los recursos interpuestos contra aquéllas. Se incorpora, además, un meticuloso índice analítico (que comprende también las voces del Reglamento de la Ley, aprobado por RD 1774/2004, de 30 de julio) y los textos internacionales más necesarios para una correcta interpretación del texto legal.
