Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cracking Pluto is a new concept about how to resolve the psychological issues which are highlighted by Pluto in the natal chart. Cracking Pluto is a major life transformation that can be compared to the midlife crisis, but it is more than that. Pluto is an inner power that often feels too big to handle. It is an intense misbalance between fear and drive. If the fear is bigger you act like a lame duck. For this category cracking Pluto means you have to do exactly what you are so afraid for. If the drive is bigger you overreact. You can definitely accomplish great things with this drive. But it will not last. Either you get worn out, or you will find your final adversary in your late thirties. Pluto means a tremendous tension that can't last. In the end, you will need to transform this tension. This is cracking Pluto. If you don't crack Pluto yourself then you will be forced to by circumstances. Pluto is a planet of power, the higher dimension of Mars. Pluto is the general whereas Mars is the soldier. By 'Cracking Pluto' the warlord is changed into a peacekeeper. A sickness dies out and a new person is born creating a new reality. When you crack Pluto the anxiousness is transformed into self-assurance, peace of mind and a newfound wisdom. New positive energies will begin to flow into your life. However, cracking Pluto is a hard process. A karmic disease in your soul begins to heal. This brings along a crisis that causes tremendous changes in your life. It feels like dying, but at the end of the tunnel there is a light. All of your earthly possessions are at stake. You must face your deepest and most deadly fears. 'Cracking Pluto' is a hard process. It goes much further than a superficial change of behaviour or viewpoints. But after this, a new person is born. You become someone who no longer needs to be afraid because you have gone through it once already. Cracking Pluto is a karmic transformation of your soul which opens the doors of Heaven, enabling you to share in the real fruits of life. It is a quantum leap of your consciousness leading you to your life purpose, the northern Moon node. It helps you to reach self- realization. The art of cracking Pluto is to stay calm under all circumstances. Pluto is a hell you create for yourself. There is no logical explanation for the Plutonic fears save for past life memories. A memory of a past life calamity lingers in your unconscious mind causing a lot of unexplainable stress. This is thoroughly explained by showing the patterns of behavior accompanying each Pluto position from the early youth to the moment of cracking Pluto. After cracking Pluto for the first time, everything in your horoscope is strengthened and will begin to work in a more positive way. Mastering Pluto is a continuous process but it becomes easier after the initial cracking. From the moment you dare to pass the watchman at the gate (Charon, Pluto's satellite) and begin to face your most pernicious fears, something in you will change. As an adult you become your own authority in your life. This book will help you master the cracking of Pluto, and also understand the plutonic energies in other people. You reach a point where you can trust yourself fully because you have overcome your deepest fears. Always, at any age, this book is helpful to understand someone else's Pluto problem. . Cracking Pluto is an evolutionary astrology book. Sebastian van Wingerden has also published the book 'the northern Moon node the message from beyond', ISBN 978-90807155-85, another evolutionary astrology book. In this book the overall picture of the 'system of Carteret' is given with Pluto as a wrecking-bar to open up your consciousness to the spiritual plain. http: //www.lillalith.com/astrology_books.htm

Book excerpt: Crack Capitalism, argues that radical change can only come about through the creation, expansion and multiplication of weak points, or "cracks" in the capitalist system. John Holloway's previous book, Change the World Without Taking Power, sparked a world-wide debate among activists about the most effective methods of resisting capitalism. Now Holloway rejects the idea of a disconnected plurality of struggles and finds a unifying contradiction -- the opposition between the time we spend working as part of the system and our excess "doing" where we revolt and refuse to be subsumed. Clearly and accessibly presented in the form of 33 theses, Crack Capitalism is set to reopen the debate among radical scholars and activists seeking to break capitalism.

This book was released on 2010-07-12 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New York Times bestseller: "You gotta read this. It is the most exciting book about Pluto you will ever read in your life." —Jon Stewart When the Rose Center for Earth and Space at the American Museum of Natural History reclassified Pluto as an icy comet, the New York Times proclaimed on page one, "Pluto Not a Planet? Only in New York." Immediately, the public, professionals, and press were choosing sides over Pluto's planethood. Pluto is entrenched in our cultural and emotional view of the cosmos, and Neil deGrasse Tyson, award-winning author and director of the Rose Center, is on a quest to discover why. He stood at the heart of the controversy over Pluto's demotion, and consequently Plutophiles have freely shared their opinions with him, including endless hate mail from third-graders. With his inimitable wit, Tyson delivers a minihistory of planets, describes the oversized characters of the people who study them, and recounts how America's favorite planet was ousted from the cosmic hub.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An adventure in scientific discovery Pluto, the farthermost planet in the solar system, some 3,673 million mites from the Sun, was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh at the Lowell Observatory in 1930. The fiftieth anniversary of Pluto's discovery will be celebrated in 1980 and OUT OF THE DARKNESS: THE PLANET PLUTO tells the exciting scientific story of the twenty-five year search for a planet X beyond Neptune, and its discovery-the only planet found in the twentieth century. The planets Mercury, Venus. Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn were all known since antiquity. Then Sir William Herschel discovered Uranus in 1781, and 65 years later, in 1846, Johann Calle and Urbain le Verner discovered Neptune. Variations in orbital perturbations of the planets and theoretical astronomy were responsible for predicting and discovering the three outermost planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) and so Pluto's story is also, to some extent, the story of its planetary neighbors. What kind of world is Pluto? Much is still a mystery (its exact size, for instance), but there are some facts. It takes 247.7 years for Pluto to revolve around the sun. From Pluto's surface, the Sun appears as a star-like point; giving only on-one-hundredth the light Earth receives, although it is still brighter than a full Moon. There is strong evidence to suggest that Pluto is an escaped satellite of Neptune, a sister moon of Triton that wandered off to become the farthermost planet revolving around the Sun. And the recent discovery of Pluto’s moon, Charon, and the speculation on a tenth planet beyond Pluto add to the mystery that still prevails 50 years after coauthor Clyde Tombaugh exclaimed “That’s it!” when he saw the change of position of a faint object on the photographic plates after examining millions of star images. That evening, the only man alive to discover a planet, went to the movies and saw Gary Cooper in The Virginian. The night sky was cloudy when he came out of the theatre, but his mind’s eye still saw the faint image of Pluto.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the International Astronomical Union (IAU) adopted a new definition of a "planet" in August 2006, Pluto became a dwarf planet, drawing a divisive line in science and public opinions. The controversy of whether Pluto is a planet continues years later, and passion about the decision remains, pitting scientist against scientist and invoking sentiments and nostalgia from the rest of the world. With the IAU definition, the future of space objects is forever changed. Learn how this resolution came to be and what it means for astronomy, who implemented it and who is against it, and whether it's the first or millionth time the world's view of astronomy has rotated on its axis. Written by an astronomer and educator who voted for the IAU resolution—Laurence A. Marschall—and a NASA scientist who supported the opposing petition that resulted—Stephen P. Maran—Pluto Confidential leaves no perspective out and no asteroid unturned in the Pluto debate. A telescopic look inside the book: • History of planetary disputes, including why Jupiter almost wasn't acknowledged • What Bode's Law is and how it has influenced observations • Who discovered Pluto and how it was named • The Kuiper Belt and its role in what it means to be a planet • Beyond Pluto and the eight distinguished planets

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Once perceived as distant, cold, dark, and seemingly unknowable, Pluto had long been marked as the farthest and most unreachable frontier for solar system exploration. After Voyager accomplished its final planetary reconnaissance at Neptune in 1989, Pluto and its cohort in the Kuiper Belt beckoned as the missing puzzle piece for completing the first reconnaissance of our solar system. In the decades following Voyager, a mission to the Pluto system was not only imagined but also achieved, culminating with the historic 2015 flyby by the New Horizons spacecraft. Pluto and its satellite system (“the Pluto system”), including its largest moon, Charon, have been revealed to be worlds of enormous complexity that fantastically exceed preconceptions. The Pluto System After New Horizons seeks to become the benchmark for synthesizing our understanding of the Pluto system. The volume’s lead editor is S. Alan Stern, who also serves as NASA’s New Horizons Principal Investigator; co-editors Richard P. Binzel, William M. Grundy, Jeffrey M. Moore, and Leslie A. Young are all co-investigators on New Horizons. Leading researchers from around the globe have spent the last five years assimilating Pluto system flyby data returned from New Horizons. The chapters in this volume form an enduring foundation for ongoing study and understanding of the Pluto system. The volume also advances insights into the nature of dwarf planets and Kuiper Belt objects, providing a cornerstone for planning new missions that may return to the Pluto system and explore others of the myriad important worlds beyond Neptune.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For five decades after its discovery in 1930, the planet Pluto remained an enigma. However, several events during the last two decades have helped to lift the veil of mystery surrounding the ninth planet. The discovery of its satellite, Charon, in 1978 permitted occultation observations that allowed scientists to determine the size of both bodies. Astronomers also detected the presence of an atmosphere, and the Hubble Space Telescope provided views in unprecedented detail. In addition to these two fortuitous events, advances in telescopic instrumentation and computational methods led to exciting observational and theoretical discoveries. This new Space Sciences Series volume focuses on the scientific issues associated with Pluto and Charon. Fifty collaborating authors here review the latest research on the Pluto-Charon binary, from bulk properties, surfaces and interiors to atmospheric structure, composition, and dynamics. They also provide historical perspectives on Pluto-Charon research and discuss the population of the trans-Neptunian region and the origin of the Pluto-Charon binary. Also included are prefatory remarks by Pluto's and Charon's discoverers, Clyde Tombaugh and James Christy. This volume offers the most comprehensive available compendium of research work for understanding these far off members of our solar system, just at a time following dramatic developments in our knowledge but before that knowledge can be advanced by spacecraft missions.
