Book Synopsis Conditional Probabilities of the Geomagnetic Index Ap by : Philip M. Pazich
Download or read book Conditional Probabilities of the Geomagnetic Index Ap written by Philip M. Pazich and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data of the geomagnetic index A sub p from 1932 to 1973 were used to determine the conditional probabilities for the occurrence of certain values of that index. The range of values was divided into three categories that approximately correspond to quiet, moderate, and disturbed levels of geomagnetic activity. Conditions applied were the category level of activity on the initial and subsequent day and the portion of the solar sunspot cycle. Conditional probabilities were determined for 100 successive days after the initial day, both for the quiet and active portions of the sunspot cycle. (Author).

Book Synopsis Principles of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Microscopy by : Paul T. Callaghan
Download or read book Principles of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Microscopy written by Paul T. Callaghan and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although nuclear magnetic resonance is perhaps best known for its spectacular utility in medical tomography, its potential applicability to fields such as biology, materials science, and chemical physics is being increasingly recognized as laboratory NMR spectrometers are adapted to enable small scale imaging. This excellent introduction to the subject explores principles and common themes underlying two key variants of NMR microscopy, and provides many examples of their use. Methods discussed are not only important to fundamental biological and physical research, but have applications to a wide variety of industries, including those concerned with petrochemicals, polymers, biotechnology, food processing, and natural product processing. The wide range of scientists interested in NMR microscopy will want to own a copy of this book.

Book Synopsis Stochastic Processes In Magnetic Resonance by : Dan Gamliel
Download or read book Stochastic Processes In Magnetic Resonance written by Dan Gamliel and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1995-07-14 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes methods for calculating magnetic resonance spectra which are observed in the presence of random processes. The emphasis is on the stochastic Liouville equation (SLE), developed mainly by Kubo and applied to magnetic resonance mostly by J H Freed and his co-workers. Following an introduction to the use of density matrices in magnetic resonance, a unified treatment of Bloch-Redfield relaxation theory and chemical exchange theory is presented. The SLE formalism is then developed and compared to the other relaxation theories. Methods for solving the SLE are explained in detail, and its application to a variety of problems in electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is studied. In addition, experimental aspects relevant to the applications are discussed. Mathematical background material is given in appendices.
