Download or read book Aerosol Chemical Processes in the Environment written by Kvetoslav R. Spurny and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2000-03-23 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A compilation of the most important aerosol chemical processes involved in known scientific and technological disciplines, Aerosol Chemical Processes in the Environment serves as a handbook for aerosol chemistry. Aerosol science is interdisciplinary, interfacing with many environmental, biological and technological research fields. Aerosols and aerosol research play an important role in both basic and applied scientific and technological fields. Interdisciplinary cooperation is useful and necessary. Aerosol Chemical Processes in the Environment uses several examples to show the impact of aerosol chemistry in several different fields, mainly in basic and atmospheric research. The book describes the most important chemical processes involved in the various scientific and technological disciplines.

Download or read book Atmospheric Aerosol Chemistry written by and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2022-04-19 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Atmospheric aerosols are an important and a highly complex component of the Earth’s atmosphere that alter the radiative forcing and the chemical composition of the gas phase. These effects have impacts on local air quality and the global climate. Atmospheric Aerosol Chemistry outlines research findings to date in aerosol chemistry and advances in analytical tools used in laboratory studies for studying their surface and bulk reactivity.

Book Synopsis Environmental Mineralogy II by : D.J. Vaughan
Download or read book Environmental Mineralogy II written by D.J. Vaughan and published by The Mineralogical Society of Great Britain and Ireland. This book was released on 2013-02-06 with total page 507 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a sense, all mineralogy is environmental mineralogy. However, the term environmental has come to be employed (particularly in combination with terms such as science, issue or problem) to refer to those systems at or near the surface of the Earth where the geosphere comes into contact with the hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere. This is, of course, the environment upon which the human race depends for survival and, hence, is now sometimes referred to as the critical zone. Those systems containing minerals that constitute the most important or key environments are considered here: soils, modern sediments, atmospheric aerosols, and the interior or exterior parts of certain micro- and macro-organisms. Particularly important are the roles that minerals play in processes that act over time to control or influence the environment at various scales of observation. Both pure systems and those contaminated as a result of human activity are considered. The objectives for this volume are to help to define the subject of environmental mineralogy, and to provide an initial source of information both for mineralogists and other scientists who wish to understand or work in this field. It was hoped that it might also provide a text for use by those teaching courses in the subject at advanced undergraduate or graduate student level.
Book Synopsis The Mechanisms of Atmospheric Oxidation of the Aromatic Hydrocarbons by : Jack G. Calvert
Download or read book The Mechanisms of Atmospheric Oxidation of the Aromatic Hydrocarbons written by Jack G. Calvert and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2002-02-14 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text reviews many of the aspects of the chemistry of the aromatic hydrocarbons and a consensus evaluation of the data by seven of the leading atmospheric scientists. The book covers topics ranging from the relative importance of the compounds in ozone and haze development to methods of estimating elemantary rate coefficients based on structural features of the compounds to mechanisms of aerosol generation and atmostpheric reaction of the polycyclic compounds to photochemical processes. It identifies features of the aromatic hydrocarbons requiring further study and appendicies give the structural formulas and nomenclature of the compounds reviewed in the book.

Download or read book Proceedings of the Second International Clean Air Congress written by H.M. Englund and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-02 with total page 1384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Proceedings of the Second International Clean Air Congress documents the information and experiences exchanged at the Second International Clean Air Congress held in Washington, D.C. on December 6-11, 1970. This book compiles technical papers of five representatives from the national non-governmental air pollution prevention association of Argentina, France, West Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom that aims to determine how they might work together cooperatively to contribute to the conservation of the world's air resources The topics discussed include the Swedish experiences on sensory evaluation of odorous air pollutant intensities; chronic fluoride intoxication due to air pollution; and organic ozone reactions as singlet oxygen sources. The emission and control of air pollutants from the incineration of municipal solid wastes and gaseous plume diffusion about isolated structures of simple geometry are also covered. This publication is a good reference for environmentalists and students interested in the scientific, technological, and administrative aspects of air pollution control.
