Along the discussions of dreams and medicine, the expositions ramify into inquiries about memory; namely, how memories might be stored and accessed within the human mind, and how those memories can resurface through dreams and obtrusive thoughts. Thus, the work itself has been heavily influenced by various branches of cognitive psychology. Indeed, the monograph as a whole might well be considered a veritable piece of psychological investigation predicated on the works of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and a number of contemporary researchers. Though those with a formal psychological education might have the greatest ease navigating the parlance utilized within this work, all are invited to peruse its pages--especially, artists. Though dreams may never find a lasting appreciation within the walls of medicine, it is undeniable that art itself has been influenced by dreams--a trend which is unlikely to die anytime soon. Thus, the artist may well find more utility in this work than any other practitioner. That being said, there is certainly something here for everyone to learn, appreciate, and enjoy.
