Book excerpt: Los problemas de salud mental son cada vez más comunes en la población laboral, siendo el ejercicio de enseñar, una de las profesiones que presenta numerosos factores de riesgo psíquico. En Chile, el marco legal establece como vínculo concreto a la salud mental de las personas en el trabajo, la enfermedad profesional "neurosis ocupacional". En este sentido, el clima organizacional aparece como un tema de gran poder explicativo en la autopercepción de patologías mentales como depresión, ansiedad, insomnio, somatizaciones y trastornos sociales. El objetivo general de este estudio fue evaluar la influencia del Clima Organizacional en la auto-percepción de síntomas de Neurosis Ocupacional, en docentes de cuatro establecimientos municipales de enseñanza media de la comuna de Los Ángeles. La muestra se constituyó de 103 profesores, a los cuales se les aplicó tres cuestionarios para evaluar las variables: características socio-demográficas y laborales, clima organizacional y síntomas auto-percibidos de neurosis ocupacional. Los resultados obtenidos indican que tres establecimientos poseen un clima organizacional predominantemente sano, mientras que uno categoriza como regular. Asimismo, en un liceo los profesores auto-percibieron mayoritariamente síntomas somáticos, mientras que en las otras tres instituciones poseen mayor tendencia a auto-percibir síntomas de ansiedad e insomnio. El análisis correlacional permitió establecer una influencia negativa de la estabilidad laboral sobre los síntomas de neurosis ocupacional; por el contrario las dimensiones estructura, motivación laboral y comunicación registraron una influencia positiva sobre la sintomatología, en un establecimiento. Finalmente, se lograron identificar relaciones entre síntomas somáticos y las variables Antigüedad laboral, Género y Edad, principalmente.
