Book excerpt: The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the bedrock of the Christian faith. Without it, the truth claims of Christianity crumble. But not only is the resurrection of Jesus true and historically verifiable, it is also the foundation of the believer's hope for the future. Those in Christ will be raised from the dead in the new creation. The apostle Paul's argument in 1 Corinthians 15 for the historical resurrection of Christ and the future resurrection of Christians is one of the most momentous theological treatises in the New Testament. This series of studies, With A Mighty Triumph!, carefully leads readers through Paul's discussion and examines its inner logic, theological content, and practical application. While not shying away from the difficult subjects of baptism for the dead and the nature of the resurrection body, its main focus is on the hope Christ's resurrection offers to all who believe.

Book excerpt: Jesus truly is alive today. But compared to his atoning death, Jesus' resurrection sparks relatively little discussion in the church. Inadvertently,we can become so focused on the good news that Christ died for our sins, that we almost forget he was "raised for our justification" (Romans 4:25). In Raised with Christ, author Adrian Warnock exhorts Christians not to neglect the resurrection in their teaching and experience. Warnock takes his cue from Acts, where every recorded sermon focuses on Jesus' resurrection. He stresses that Christians who faithfully proclaim both the death and the bodily resurrection of Jesus, and live out the implications of that message in vibrant,grace-filled churches, will be enabled to reach a world that lives in death's dark shadow. The power of the risen Christ is active in every true Christian, transforming our lives. Raised with Christ will help you discover afresh the massive implications of the empty tomb. Jesus' resurrection really has changed everything.

Knowing what it means is another. Although much has been written about the apologetics of the resurrection, little has been written about its theological meaning. This book reveals the hidden depths of the theological significance and ongoing relevance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ for our being, our salvation, Christian life, ethics, and our future hope.

In twelve chapters, Dr. Sproul examines the defining features of the biblical gospel, which alone has the power to save. In order to define the gospel, Dr. Sproul begins by examining truth about God and the necessity for a Savior in Jesus Christ, who is both God and man and who made a perfect, representative sacrifice for the sins of His people. Dr. Sproul not only maps out our need for Christ and the historical realities of His coming but also the things His very death accomplished: the justification and salvation of His people. This entails that Christ has taken upon our sin and also had given us His righteousness, which is ours by faith. To finish this presentation of the gospel, Dr. Sproul also drives home the importance of sharing it with others"--

Book excerpt: If Christ had not risen from the dead, if God's plan for redemption had ended at the cross, what would our faith look like? Have we become so fixated on the cross that we have lost an understanding of the centrality of the resurrection? And if we ignore the resurrection, what effect does that have on our worldview, our evangelism, and our Christian practice? In The Cross Is Not Enough, Ross Clifford and Philip Johnson explore how the resurrection of Christ has been understood in times past and restore this linchpin doctrine to its rightful place as the basis of our hope, our worldview, and the way we live our lives. They compare Christianity's unique understanding of resurrection to other world religions and explore why the resurrection connects so readily with the human psyche. Pastors, teachers, students, and anyone involved in ministry will benefit from this insightful and engaging treatment of Christianity's most important doctrine.

Most reasonably informed Christians are well aware that many of the traditions that surround the Christmas holidays have pagan origins and very little correlation with the actual events as recorded in the Bible. However, most of us are surprised when we discover that some of what we have been taught about Easter is not only in error, but deliberately so!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From Acts 3:26, “Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities,” Lockyer teaches on the foundational doctrine of Christ’s glorious resurrection. As Lockyer sates, “The hope of man is founded upon the resurrection of Christ from the dead.” Such a work of God to redeem fallen men from the justice and wrath of God, one finds the resurrection of Christ bearing the confirmation of God’s oath to the elect for the accomplishment of their eternal good. And in this, rests the infallible determination of Christ’s state as the natural Son of God, and so the messenger indeed of the covenant of grace. More than any other miracle of the New Testament, the resurrection is the foundation on which our Christian faith rests. Jesus had to be raised from the dead for the cross to be effectual, for his death and resurrection are both essential for redemption. Our resurrected Savior is our Chief Cornerstone, the Author and Finisher of our faith, our triumphant King who conquered sin, death, hell, and the grave, rose from the dead and ascended into glory to the right hand of God. This work is not a scan or facsimile, has been carefully transcribed by hand being made easy to read in modern English, and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.

While everyone must face death, it is not the end for those united with Christ. Followers of Jesus Christ have resurrection hope—the proclamation that Christ has defeated death and the promise that believers shall share in his victory. The resurrection is essential to the Christian faith and is rooted in the faithfulness of God. With scholarly insight, Mitchell L. Chase traces the theme of resurrection hope throughout Scripture, walking through each section of Scripture from the Law to Revelation. Having a proper understanding of death and resurrection will not only stir up our soberness for the reality of sin and death, but it will also motivate our praise to God. This book was released on 2017-01-04 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Resurrection is defined as "the act of rising from the dead." The Greek word used for resurrection in the Bible means "to stand up again." Everyone that has died or will die will be raised from the dead by God. All will "stand up again." Resurrection is a fact that is "assumed [taken for granted] in the Scriptures." The reality of resurrection does not have to be proven by God even though there are many who do not believe in the resurrection from the dead. The Scriptures appear to indicate that there are basically four resurrections, each resurrection consisting of at least two phases. First: There is the resurrection of Jesus, Himself. Second: There will be what the Bible calls resurrection of the "the first-fruit Christ," a resurrection that I consider one of the phases "the first resurrection." Third: There will be the resurrection of "those who are Christ's at His coming," the other phase of the first resurrection. Fourth: There is also the resurrection of what I call the "finish" or "conclusion." The resurrection at the "finish" or "conclusion" appears to be synonymous with the "resurrection ... of eternal judgment."
