Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preserving Family Ties was not written to give you a formula for action. Rather, this is a guidebook for understanding. It was written to give a clearer understanding of the complexity in child custody when parents separate. This book provides you the historical context for the changes you experience, and what you may fear. I have written this book to offer parents and professionals that context in which the new reality unfolds. It was written to help you understand that one can move forward best when they a) acknowledge your feelings as you endure so many life changes, often abrupt and unexpected; b) recognize the obstacles and options in the child custody and divorce process; and c) seek support from family, friends, community resources to affect the best transition for you and your children. There is no magic wand to solve problems that parents may encounter, real or imaginary. However, our imagination can play havoc with this journey of family transition. The future we prefer for our children, for each parent, for grandparents and other extended family members, can be far better than imagined.

Download or read book Your Right to Child Custody, Visitation, and Support written by Mary L. Boland and published by Sphinx Publishing. This book was released on 2000 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the divorce rate above 50 percent and climbing, more and more parents are faced with difficult situations involving their children. This book is designed to let parents know their legal rights and to help them understand the court system. Most parents think that once a decree for support has been ordered, that all is over. However, often that is just the beginning. Getting the support that was mandated, in the amount that was stated, in the manner that was determined necessary and in the time indicated are often major issues that must be continually confronted for the good of the children. In addition to covering all of the basics, Your Right to Child Custody, Visitation and Support also examines current hot topics such as parental kidnapping, child support enforcement and when one of the parents is in the armed forces. Easy-to-use, blank tear-out forms makes this new edition a must for every person who has children and has gone through or is contemplating a divorce.

Download or read book The 10 Stupidest Mistakes Men Make When Facing Divorce written by Joseph Cordell and published by Harmony. This book was released on 2010-12-07 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Knowledge Every Man Needs for a Successful Divorce Each year 500,000 men will face divorce, and most of them make at least one crucial—and often irreversible—mistake. These errors might seem minor, such as moving out while things get sorted out, or thinking of “temporary” orders as being truly temporary. But when they get to court, these men discover they have put themselves in a terrible position. They may have to give up their house, pay impossibly high alimony, or even lose custody. You could be one of these men. But you don’t have to be. Joseph Cordell, the founder of the nation’s largest law firm focusing on men’s divorce and the creator of the Dads Divorce website, has seen the consequences of the mistakes men make. Drawing upon the huge number of cases that Cordell & Cordell has handled, this book identifies the 10 most common mistakes that end up hurting men in divorce. Cordell demystifies the divorce process, explains what judges consider in making their final decisions, and lays out a road map for positive actions men can take to achieve the best possible outcome. No man should face divorce without this book.

Download or read book From the Inside, Florida Divorce written by Michael A. Garfield and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-10-02 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction From the INSIDE Now, for the first time you get to see the Family Court system through the eyes of the Court appointed Family Court Program Specialist, Pro Se Coordinator, an insider. The term "Pro Se" will be used through out this workbook and is used when someone represents themselves in Family Court either as a Petitioner, (the person starting the filing) or the Respondent, (the person who responds to the filing). The Pro Se Coordinator, a non-lawyer, helps people representing themselves fill in and file state approved forms designed to accomplish Dissolution of Marriage, Custody, Visitation, Adoption, Modifications, Child Support, Contempt/ Enforcement and more. Let me tell you a little about what I did at the 16th Judicial Circuit Court between 2000 to 2002. What I'm about to write is still valid today, July 2013. As the Family Court Program Specialist, Pro Se Coordinator, I worked with the public and the court under the administration section. That's right; the court has both a Family Court PROGRAM and an administrative arm. I supported the Court in many ways. Part of what I did was to review case files before they went to the Judge. I made sure that the forms were complete, correct and ready for hearing or trial. Sometimes I reviewed files at the request of a Judge, Judicial Assistant or Court Administrator. In addition, I did case management. Case Management is the process where all case files are reviewed, Pro Se and Attorney filings alike. The Court wants to make sure that justice is swift and that cases move as quickly as possible through the system. While the general public doesn't know it, the administrative division keeps statistics and strives to move cases along using the case management process. There are time limit goals. This Work Book will help you understand the process.
