Das Unterrichten reduziert sich nicht mehr auf den Wissensaustausch, sondern es wird das Weitergeben von Kompetenzen gefordert. Teil dieser Kompetenzen im Zeichen der Digitalisierung ist der Umgang mit den digitalen Technologien. Die Verteilung dieser Kompetenzen unter den Lehrpersonen ist sehr heterogen. Aufgrund dessen wirkt die Digitalisierung auf die Lehrpersonen unterschiedlich belastend. Je nach Kompetenzen kann es so zu starkem Stress führen, was in der Literatur als digitalem Stress oder auch Technostress bezeichnet wird. Stress kann Auslöser verschiedener Erkrankungen sein. Stark diskutierte psychische Erkrankungen im Lehrberuf sind Burn-out und Depression. Der innere Ansporn den Schülern helfen zu wollen kann zu einer starken Erschöpfung führen. Dieser Zustand der steigenden Erschöpfung wird als Burn-out bezeichnet. Die nachfolgende Arbeit wird diese Thematik untersuchen. Das Ziel ist herauszufinden, inwieweit der digitale Stress bei einer Lehrperson zu einem Burn-out führen kann.
