Book excerpt: About Bible Nuggets It is our sincere hope and prayer that it may serve at least four uses: First, we that there may be those who find it useful as an aid to daily devotionals. Perhaps some may have their thoughts turned to spiritual matters and reflect on its content throughout the day. Second, that some may find messages suitable for bulletin articles. Third, as the title would suggest, these articles may be easily expanded into much more detailed lessons. We would be happy if these may be found suitable as nuggets for sermon preparation or Bible class material. Fourth, that some should find these articles helpful to those who may find helpful this material as a guide for further and deeper study of the Bible. We would encourage such uses as long as the articles are not tampered with in such a way as to misquote what we have written, or used to convey in any way a message different than the one intended by the author. With these thoughts in mind, it is our genuine hope and prayer that this book may be helpful, and that any who come into contact with the material within it pages, may be encouraged toward a closer walk with God.

Book excerpt: Gods Word is the ultimate source for true wisdom, and the Lords proverbs, lessons, and messages can inspire all of his faithful believers to lead happy, joyful, and successful lives. However, especially in this hectic, modern-day world, the wisdom of the Bible can become clouded by worldly temptation and distraction. In Distinguished Wisdom Presents Living ProverbsVolume 1, author and pastor Terrance Levise Turner invites his fellow believers to join him in seeking the truth and reliability of Gods Word and its godly principles. With over five hundred contemporary proverbs supported by Scripture and derived from living out the truths of Gods Word, it promises to guide the faithful in their daily decision making and offers them a solid foundation upon which to build a successful, godly life. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the wisdom of Gods Word are timeless, and a provision of inspiring, living proverbs can encourage all believers to walk with the Lord on his path for their lives. As with the book of Proverbs, truly perceiving Gods ways and his wisdom will allow his Word to come alive both in the understanding and in everyday life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nuggets from Scripture consists of nineteen stand-alone articles about Bible characters, objects, events, and words that even mature Bible students may find new, surprising, challenging, and edifying. Subjects include music, tents, drugs, prophets, poetry, government, resurrection, and many more from both Old and New Testaments. One or two articles may be considered controversial or disputatious, one is lighthearted, and one is fictional in format. However, all are solidly Bible-based. These truths will find their ways into sermons, lessons, and conversations. Because most of the articles are only five to fifteen pages long, one apt subtitle is A Bedtime Reader for Bible Lovers. But this is not a collection of trivia or sedatives. It is serious, and a high view of scripture is maintained.

Book excerpt: As parents hoping to raise godly children, we may understand the importance of regular family devotions. However, we may find it difficult to get our kids (or even ourselves) fully engaged. But what if devotions looked less like sitting in the living room listening to someone read and trying to pry answers out of reluctant kids and more like, say, electrocuting a pickle? Or converting a leaf blower into a toilet paper launcher? Or lighting toothpaste on fire? These hands-on, kinda dangerous, totally unforgettable object lessons (along with nearly fifty others) are not only more fun than other family devotions--they actually deliver the spiritual impact you desire for your kids. They'll even get dads and any too-cool-for-this-stuff teens jazzed about a weekly family devotional time. So put away the flannelgraph, get out the safety goggles, and start bringing the truths of Scripture to vivid life in your household. Just remember to change out of your Sunday clothes first.

Within an easy-to-digest collection, Merriweather provides definitions and commentary related to twenty-seven fundamental faith words that seasoned Christians and pastors use regularly. Her explanations of such terms as baptism, grace, sin, and tithe also include accompanying scriptures and introspective questions that will help anyone grow in faith, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God, the Christian faith, and God’s Word. Included is space to record and memorize a favorite verse. Nuggets to Nourish Your Soul offers savory bits of wisdom regarding twenty-seven fundamental and frequently used Christian terms that will help new believers navigate through their faith.

The highs are much greater and heartfelt than you anticipate; the anxiety and stress are deeper and last longer than you expect. Add to this mix the possibility of working a full time job in addition to pastoring, and you can see why a pastor's time is in such great demand. What if you could hold in your hand a resource that would jump start your sermon writing process, allowing you to save time and still deliver a trustworthy sermon? Dr. Paul Cannings, once a young pastor himself, remembers the days of struggling to balance it all. Now he has written a helpful guidebook that provides everything a pastor or lay teacher needs to write an effective, moving, and biblically sound sermon for each of the fifty-two weeks in the year. In Big Idea Sermons, Dr. Cannings clearly lays out the key components of a good sermon by including sermon outlines, series, background information, illustrations, holiday messages for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mother's and Father's Day, and more. He also includes references to the Hebrew and Greek texts for further validation. By working with the original languages, Dr. Cannings proclaims the gospel in a clear, engaging, and trustworthy manner. Pastors, preachers, lay teachers, and anyone in position to preach a sermon or teach a lesson: Big Idea Sermons is here to help. All that you need to write a good sermon is included. Be sure to read, meditate, and pray so you may use this resource wisely and effectively.

This book was released on 2020-11-17 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inspirational writing meets Bible commentary. Nuggets of Truth stands as a different kind of devotional. It is, perhaps, more in keeping with Oswald Chamber’s My Utmost for His Highest in that it is meant to teach more than it is meant to simply inspire. Not that each Nugget of Truth does not inspire. On the contrary, it stands as a very inspirational book even as the Scriptures themselves never fail to inspire. Indeed, the content of each individual devotional is full of Scripture. Each Nugget of Truth is designed to provide the reader with a short Bible study. Hence, the reader is more of a student than simply a reader. The considerable content of each day’s study digs deep enough with a pointed focus that the student effectively goes through a mini Bible college program once having gone through the entire year. The sub-title of Nuggets of Truth, A Bible Student’s Devotional and A Bible Teacher’s Resource Handbook, reveals the two-fold purpose and use of this book. It is meant to be a devotional for Bible students and for Bible teachers. In keeping with this second purpose, the devotional is exhaustively indexed. With its indexes, Nuggets of Truth can be used by Bible teachers as a resource for their teaching ministries. 80 pages of downloadable indices provided with purchase!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is First Mention? The Law of FIRST MENTION of a word in the King James A.V. 1611 sets the tone, it's associations and the definition of the word throughout the rest of the Bible. This compilation of the words of the Bible shows you where the word is located as it appears in Scripture, with the quote of that word as it is found in the English text.My interest in this truth was nurtured by the man who led me to the Lord Jesus Christ, and of whom I have since that day considered to be my pastor Dr. Mickey Carter, Pastor of Landmark Baptist Church, and founder of Landmark Baptist College in Haines City, Florida, and another great influence is the Bible teacher and author Dr. Peter S. Ruckman, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Pensacola Florida who has authored 200 plus books and pamphlets on the Holy Bible (Bible Baptist Bookstore, Pensacola, Florida.) Both of these men taught me that the King James Holy Bible is the word and words of the living God and that he gave it to us just as he wanted us to have it in the end time, universal language of English. I confess, I believe the same thing. I hope this work will be of benefit to you as you grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. The LayoutThis book is laid out according to the order of the King James Bible for easy marking. The nuggets are in chapter-verse sequence just as the bible. This work is to be used as you would a proverb, or a bumper sticker, every nugget stands on its own, and is to be considered independently as you read through your King James Holy Bible.Marking Your BibleI suggest that you mark your Bible only with inks that will not bleed through the pages. I use "ACID FREE" artist ink and you can get them in just about any color, these are superb for writing notes and underlining your Bible. I recommend that you use a different color for each distinct group, for example, you might underline all of the words that appear only one time in the scripture with one color, all words that appear only one time in a particular Testament with another color, and all other occurrences of first mention words that you wish to mark for teaching purposes (for instance, "lowest, hell" both appear for the first time in Dt. 32) with yet another color so that as you teach the Bible these words will stand out to you as either first use, only use, or only testament use, this will bring to your remembrance any significance that you have found concerning the placement of these words in the King James A.V. 1611 text.IntroductionThis book, "First Mention Nuggets" is the by-product of my book entitled "First Mention" Every Word In The King James Bible And Where It First Appears" which is, as the title states, a reference book which lists in chapter-verse sequence every word and where it first appears in the Holy Bible. The significance of the first appearance of a word in the Bible sets the tone, the numerical associations and the definition that is consistent throughout the rest of the Bible. See an example below of the law of first mention. For an example of the law of 'first mention' and its numerical association I will use: Gen. 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. The address is apparent 13:13The verse has 13 words. The verse contains two words that are show up for the very first time in the Bible; those words are: WICKED, SINNERS (13 letters). The number 13 then is associated with 'rebellion', 'wickedness', 'sinners', and Satan all the way till the book of Revelation ends. That my friend is a first-class 'nugget' in the King James Holy Bible.
