Book excerpt: L'objectif de cette étude est de déterminer dans quelle mesure il est possible d'utiliser du béton renforce de fibres dans les fondations profondes telles que les pieux fores a la tarière continue selon le procède starsol-enbesol, développe par l'entreprise soletanche. Une revue bibliographique détaillée permet de mettre en évidence les potentialités offertes par les bétons renforces de fibres de différentes natures. Celles retenues pour la présente étude sont en acier tréfile et munies d'ancrages particuliers (ondulations ou crochets). Des formules spécifiques de bétons fibres sont élaborées expérimentalement. L'optimisation est menée sur la base de critères rhéologiques, mécaniques et économiques. La justification de l'emploi de bétons renforces de fibres dans les pieux fores est abordée de manière théorique (modélisation basée sur la théorie de l'endommagement) et expérimentale. Plusieurs essais de chargement comparatifs en flexion permettent de mettre en évidence l'équivalence entre un pieu renforce de fibres ondulées de 60 mm de longueur, dosées a raison de 30 kg/m#3, et un pieu arme selon le minimum forfaitaire de 0,5%. Une méthode de dimensionnement des pieux en béton fibre est proposée. La question de la durabilité des bétons renforces de fibres métalliques est soulevée par le biais d'une revue bibliographique qui permet de conclure au bon comportement général du composite vis-à-vis de la corrosion. Une série de mesures effectuées sur éprouvettes montre l'absence d'influence des fibres sur la porosité et la perméabilité du composite. Le dernier point aborde concerne la mise en ouvre sur chantier du procède, utilise de manière industrielle depuis 1989.
