Sir David Scott-sibrald, Bart. of Silwood Park, Berks, late of Duninald, Angus, succeeded to the estates and honours of his maternal uncle, Sir J. Sibbald, Bart., who died in 1819, without male issue. Sir David died 18th June, 1851, aged sixty-two years, and is succeeded by his son Sir James S. David Scott-Sibbald, Bart. (titular of Duninald.) Arms--Argent, a fesse embattled, counter-embattled, between three lions' heads erased, gules (Scott); second and third, Or, a cross moline, azure, within a bordure of the second. Crests--1st, A lion's head erased, proper; 2d, Out of a ducal coronet, a garb, or, between two sickles, proper. Mottoes--Spe vires augentur (Strength is increased by hope); and--Domini factum est (It is the doing of the Lord.) SCOTT of Abbethune. Mrs. Captain Scott of Abbethune, Angus, sister of MajorGeneral Archibald Watson, representative of the Shielhill family, relict of Robert Scott, Esq., Captain R.N., who was a natural son of Scott of Duninald. He made his fortune, and purchased the Auchmithie part of the barony of Easter Newton from Robert Rolland; and named these lands Abbethune. He died issueless. Arms--The same as Duninald, with a baton sinister, and a rainbow over the lion's head in the Crest. Family Coach.
