Book excerpt: Lions, and wolves and snakes, oh my! Reluctant to begin his journey into the unknown, Ashar meets up with some strange creatures that may either help him on his adventure or deter him from the path God has set him on. Come along on a pilgrimage with this grief-stricken rabbit that has recently lost his entire family to tragedy, as he continually fights either the battle of his own mind to turn back home or roaming predators that lurk in the shadows of the dark desert. Will he make it to his final stop that could lead him to his destiny and be part of one of the Bible's biggest events in human history or will he turn back to his comfortable life in his burrow and remain lonely without a companion? With the debut of his first novel, Louis Amparan, is making his own journey towards the final destination that God has for him. He was born, raised and continues to reside in Texas with his wife, Natalie, along with their dog, Xena, and two cats, Tristan and Raptor.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Theory of Everything Biblical By: Lynn Tzammah The Theory of Everything Biblical is an accurate account of history and bible prophecies culminating with the end of time as we know it. Lynn explains 6000 years of inaccurate Shamitic, Hamitic and Japhetic history by translating the original Hebrew text. She designed a timeline that touches every race, religion, tribe or tradition on this planet. The Theory of Everything Biblical reveals our final years on earth culminating with Jesus or Yashua Ha Mashayach’s return for his children, called by his name. Lynn not only translates Daniel 9 but concludes there are no 70 weeks of Daniel, there are 700 weeks of Daniel. The one true God of Israel left Markers that she followed from Israel to Africa, then to the Americas. She walked with Enoch 120 years and sat with Hosea on the 3rd Day. All these events lead up to 7000 A.M./2950 A.D, Day 7, Shabat.

Book excerpt: Graphic Novels and Visual Cultures in South Asia explores the shifting landscapes of the graphic narratives and related visual cultures scene in South Asia today. This exciting volume explores the ever-developing scene of graphic novels, graphic narratives and related visual cultures in South Asia. Covering topics such as Tamil comics, material memory, the politics of graphic adaptation, the fandom of Ms Marvel as well as watching Pakistani social lives on Indian TV, this collection of essays are testament to how visual cultures across South Asia are responding to a new world order. The collection of work explores how certain visual cultures in South Asia are attempting to re-shape previous modes of visuality by unpacking what it means to be living in South Asia today. Through its inclusion of articles, visual essays and in-conversation pieces, this collection offers insight into the ways in which this narrative is unfolding, the kind of stories which are being told and how, in telling these stories, South Asian society is called upon to engage and crucially, to react to what we see, how and why we see it. This book was originally published as a special issue of the South Asian Popular Culture journal.

Book excerpt: Steve Stanton, the Jerusalem Bureau Chief for the World Observer Gazette, has been covering events of the Middle East for many years. Stanton's adventures begin when he receives a priority assignment from his Managing Editor: "Our sources tell us of a new national movement sweeping Judea. Apparently the king pin of this movement, is Yeshua bar Joseph of Nazareth See what is going on in Judea and report back!" Stanton was as intrigued as he was excited about the assignment. The country was "abuzz" about this upstart movement and activity around Jerusalem was making the local leaders nervous. From the moment he accepted the assignment, trouble was literally at his door. Following a trail of leads, from eyewitness shepherds in Bethlehem, to religious leaders of the Jews, and even Roman soldiers and other twists and turns, Stanton catches up with and becomes "embedded" within the cluster of disciples. However, Stanton's task will not be easy. There are those who want to block his story. One man will warn him that his whole meaning of his existence will be to stop Stanton's mission. Many face-to-face encounters ensue, all to prevent the story of Yeshua from getting to the outside world. At almost every turn, there are attempts to stop him. The "embedded" journalist rubs elbows with the disciples of Yeshua and learns more, sees more, experiences more than any other person around, maybe even more than the closest of Yeshua's disciples. His 'exclusive' access allows Stanton insight which will help explain why there is such a furor in Judea. Embedded co-mingles historical data, with plot twists, and characters that could have happened. Does Yeshua's fate bring the end of the story? The Stanton Adventures may not end here, but what direction will they go? You know what the verses in the Bible say; now let the Stanton adventures tell you what went on between the verses!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the cultural politics of Pakistani crossover stardom in the Hindi film industry as a process of both assimilation and “Otherness”. Analysing the career profiles of three crossover performers – Ali Zafar, Fawad Khan, and Mahira Khan – as a relevant case study, it unites critical globalization studies with soft power theory in exploring the potential of popular culture in conflict resolution. The book studies the representation and reception of these celebrities, while discussing themes such as the meaning of being a Pakistani star in India, and the consequent identity politics that come into play. As the first comprehensive study of Pakistani crossover stardom, it captures intersections between political economy, cultural representation, and nationalist discourse, at the same time reflecting on larger questions of identity and belonging in an age of globalization. Crossover Stars in the Hindi Film Industry will be indispensable to researchers of film studies, media and cultural studies, popular culture and performance, peace and area studies, and South Asian studies. It will also be of interest to enthusiasts of Indian cinematic history.
